Now celebrating their 10-year anniversary, indiGO Auto Group was founded in 2010 by Todd Blue in Houston, Texas. The company then acquired Desert European Motorcars (DEM) in 2013. Over the years, the company has expanded and upgraded the DEM campus in Rancho Mirage, has acquired other dealerships and recently celebrated the grand opening of their new Porsche showroom in Palm Springs. All their facilities are state-of-the-art, and they’ve added more brands to the original lineup, offering almost any brand of upscale automobile one might want.
According to both CEO Kelly Wolf and DEM General Manager Jason Cammisa, it’s not only the high concentration of wealth in the Coachella Valley that makes it a perfect location for indiGO, but also the celebratory culture. “People may have businesses, homes, lives all over the country, but the desert is where they come to celebrate their success, to kinda let their hair down and have fun,” says Wolf. “With that comes a nice automobile.” Just driving around the desert, you’ll spot a half dozen Bentleys, two or three Rolls-Royces, a Lamborghini and so on—something that is less common in most other parts of California (or the country).

“The desert is just a really unique place,” says Cammisa. “Some people feel there’s a spiritual aspect to it. The desert is a fun place to shop for your car, not only because we have all these amazing brands in one location, but because we are pretty informal and low-pressure.”
indiGO attracts buyers from all over the country, including nearby Los Angeles, which is the largest car market in the world. At indiGO, shoppers can enjoy a unique and relaxing buying experience—plus the Coachella Valley offers the best test drive routes imaginable.
The luxury car manufacturers have also demonstrated their high regard for the Coachella Valley and indiGO. The new Porsche showroom was built in conjunction with Porsche engineers. Called Destination Porsche, the Porsche Palm Springs location is the first of its kind in the world. It was launched at the global Porsche dealer conference held in Palm Springs in 2019, and as part of the event, Porsche introduced the new 911 model—the first time in their history that they had ever released a new 911 in the United States. The new, ultra-sleek 2020 Rolls-Royce Ghost was first displayed at DEM this fall Sept. 2-8. Until then, it had never been showcased to the public.
When it comes to attention to detail and the customer, indiGO puts their best foot forward with white-glove service, meaning any specific individual need of the customer is met. The Porsche Palm Springs showroom, among its many amenities, has a full non-alcoholic bar, fresh bakery goods that are brought in daily and a play area for the kids.
According to Cammisa, a new and noteworthy auto is the Lamborghini Sian—a visionary look at a 12-cylinder sports car. Among the “firsts” introduced in this 819-horsepower supercar are hybrid technology, drivability and the use of a supercapacitor for energy conservation. It accelerates from zero to 100 kph (60 mph) in under 2.9 seconds, and its top speed is 350 kph. It is a limited series of only 19 cars, and every one has been sold.
The new Rolls-Royce Ghost is earning its name as the most refined car in the world, as it is the company’s most up-to-date four-door sedan and is completely revamped from its predecessor. To begin with, only about 30 of the cars will be coming into the country, and indiGO is taking deposits for these. Beginning in 2021, the Ghost will be in normal production.
The McLaren Elva is intended to deliver the most thrilling driving experience of any vehicle with performance unmatched by its competitors. The design creates aerodynamics that make a windshield unnecessary (the car literally doesn’t have one). An add-on windshield is available for states that require one for registration. It is the lightest, most dynamic car ever produced and the production is limited to 149 worldwide.
The Aston Martin V12 Speedster, a tribute to the 1959 Nürburgring-winning DBR1, is another open-cockpit car. There will be only 88 of them produced worldwide, 10 of which will go to this country. indiGO will receive at least one of these. It has a 5.2 liter V-12 twin turbo engine and a full carbon-fiber body.
The Bentley Bentayga is an update to Bentley’s first SUV. The 2017 Bentayga was the first luxury exotic sector SUV, but this new model has been completely redesigned.
As an essential business, indiGO’s service departments have remained open throughout the COVID-19 pandemic. The sales departments are now open as well, adhering to strict safety procedures. Employees are constantly monitored for any symptoms, cars are disinfected prior to and after servicing or test drives, the showroom is regularly disinfected, temperature sensors monitor visitors, masks are mandatory and distancing is maintained. indiGO Auto Rancho Mirage
