Just Keep Swinging With Our Cover Star Mike Trout

We started 2018 off with a bang with our January cover, Tia Mowry. A girl boss in her own right, Mowry is making moves in the industry. For our OC April magazine, we switched gears to highlight a local legend who’s changing the game in baseball—Mike Trout of the Angels.

When we learned that we were going to feature this baseball superstar, we were ecstatic. Sports writer, Tonya M. Huffman, conducted an interview with Trout where she was able to get in depth with him about his life and sports career.

After Huffman’s interview, there was only one thing left to do—get an incredible shot of Trout for our cover. We flew out our esteemed photographer, Michael Wesley, to Tempe, AZ during spring training to get the shot. “While watching Mike Trout in action the day before the shoot, it became obvious what all the buzz on this guy is about. He has a certain confidence that transcends into his swagger on the field, so I knew the he’d be an exciting subject to photograph,” Wesley said.

Whether you’re a baseball fanatic or you’re really just here for the Shoppe Guide, be sure to dog-ear the page—you won’t want to pass this feature up.
