In the iconic coastal community of Carlsbad lies a sophisticated Spanish-colonial escape spanning across 200 lush acres. The Park Hyatt Aviara Resort Golf Club & Spa has been a premier staycation spot for locals, families and business travelers alike, offering world-class recreation and relaxation.
To live up to their Forbes Five-Star rating, the resort underwent a $50 million renovation, which includes fresh dining concepts, two transformed pool areas, reimagined guest rooms and more. The grand opening celebration took place on Oct. 1, and we’ve compiled a list of new and exciting features that’ll make you want to pack your bags and spend a weekend at the reimagined Park Hyatt Aviara Resort Golf Club & Spa!
1 | Get a Room! Park Hyatt Aviara
The resort’s new, coastal-chic guest rooms offer panoramic views of Aviara Golf Course, Batiquitos Lagoon or the rolling hills of San Diego. Take comfort and revel in the luxury of oversized marble bathtubs, dual sinks and private balconies. The rooms and suites feature serene, sand-and-sea-inspired accents and calming colors, reflecting the resort’s picturesque surroundings. Interior touches like hardwood flooring, sophisticated bathroom enhancements and new furnishings give each of the 327 guest rooms a fresh, modern feel.

2 | Something to Fork About
Guests can look forward to three new on-site dining experiences at Ponto Lago, Lobby Bar and an unannounced new signature restaurant. Coming late fall, Ponto Lago will serve inventive Baja California cuisine with a local flair. Sip on agave spirits, small-batch mezcals, tequilas, piscos and cachacas or wine selections from Argentina, Chile, Mexico and California.
Lobby Bar showcases a redesigned resort lounge, a Pacific Rim-inspired menu and breathtaking views of the Pacific. Enjoy a sunset happy hour or quench your thirst after hours with craft cocktails and live music.
A stylish signature restaurant, specializing in vintage steaks and fresh seafood, will debut in early 2021. And word on the street is the concept will partner with an acclaimed celebrity chef. More details to come!
3 | Splish Splash
Catch some rays at the resort’s two transformed pool areas. The family area will include an enlarged Jacuzzi, splash pad and a brand new two-story waterslide! If you’re vacationing with your significant other, head to the adults-only pool for a relaxed setting with luxury cabanas and two new jacuzzis, all set against the backdrop of the Pacific Ocean and Batiquitos Lagoon.
4 | Make It Eventful
Getting hitched? In need of a corporate meeting space? The Park Hyatt Aviara Resort Golf Club & Spa is now home to eight unique venue types. Enjoy a sunset celebration at the outdoor pavilion or customize a space for a company conference—the options are endless! The resort’s exterior spaces feature a redesigned outdoor courtyard, terraces and event lawn (perfect for weddings and celebrations) with a double grand staircase.
5 | Un-fore-gettable
Even before the property’s $50 million facelift, the Park Hyatt Aviara’s Arnold Palmer-designed, 18-hole golf course stole the show. The Aviara Golf Club features a memorable layout of par 72 over 18 holes and is uniquely sculpted around rolling hillsides, lush greenery, distinctive bunker and water challenges and is home to the LPGA Kia Classic. But maybe one of the most exciting “golf” additions to the property is the all-new Topgolf Swing Suite, located just off the lobby. This immersive experience gives guests of all ages access to a premier lounge while enjoying casual bites, beverages and lively music with a large screen and a selection of virtual games, as well as a billiards table!
