Relive Summer’s Hottest Event of the Season

An event that permits us to shop local brands while sipping bubbly poolside? Yes, please! San Diego’s premier rooftop venue, SUNBURN Pool Lounge at the Hard Rock Hotel, is well known for generating a high-profile guest list from big name television productions such as “The Bachelor” and social media influencers like The Fat Jewish. In true SUNBURN style, Saturday’s Locale Fashion Fair pulled out all the stops and curated a flawless fusion of fashion fair and pool party.
We browsed merchandise from sunglass brand Cali Trend, cultivated in Southern California by San Diego State University graduates. We were also impressed by Original Grain’s product line of signature wooden and stainless steel watch designs. Another vendor, Ovan Sunglasses, not only showcased high-end eyewear, but also spread their mission statement, which embodies a “freethinking philosophy and the creativity of exploration.”
If shopping wasn’t on your agenda, you could jump in on a game of cornhole or bucket ball, nosh on mouthwatering street tacos from El Chingon or relax in a luxe poolside cabana. Many opted for drifting around the pool atop vibrant unicorn and pineapple shaped floats while enjoying a variety of tropical cocktails.
In addition to notable fashion brands and plenty of activities, there was also no shortage of entertainment. DJ Kaos provided high-energy poolside sounds while simultaneously celebrating his birthday. The champagne and shots were flowing. The SUNBURN Sweeties bottle service girls were in on the celebration, enthusiastically waving bright signs that read, “Happy Birthday, Kaos.” The amped up vibe spread throughout the crowd and continued for the remainder of the party.
