Modernism is a design style that features simplicity, clean lines, modern materials, open floor plans and a connection with the surrounding landscape. This was the perfect style for the desert environment of Palm Springs while it was being developed in the 1930s-’60s when celebrities from the Los Angeles area enjoyed this desert getaway. Many structures designed by famous architects of the time are preserved, and current designers are maintaining the tradition.
