The World’s Biggest Island Lifestyle Party is Back and Groovier Than Ever
Imagine stepping off a magic carpet onto a Pacific Island where time has no meaning, tropical flowers bloom in swirling color and the sounds of the East drift into the rhythms of the West. That’s not a fever dream. That’s Tiki Oasis 2026, and it’s coming to San Diego this August.
The world’s largest celebration of island lifestyle and Polynesian Pop returns to the Town and Country Resort from Aug. 5–9, and this year’s theme, Psychedelic Tiki, is exactly as gloriously unhinged as it sounds. Think kaleidoscopic pop art, diaphanous paisley, enormous tropical blooms and a full-on sensory immersion that would make the Summer of Love jealous. Founders Otto and Baby Doe von Stroheim have been conjuring this magic since 2001 and now, more than 25 years in, it’s clear they’re just getting started.

Last year’s 25th anniversary set the bar high: more than 4,000 attendees showed up, 150-plus vendors reported record sales and the city of San Diego handed Otto and Baby Doe a Certificate of Mayoral Recognition. The weekend closed out with the San Diego Bartenders Battle, won by Eliza Woodman, and a late-night dance party featuring rock legend Lenny Kaye alongside Robert Lopez (known as El Vez), Deke Dickerson and Johnny Echols of psychedelic rock band Love. The backing band? San Diego’s own The Loons, performing songs from Kaye’s 1972 landmark garage-psych “Nuggets” compilation. No big deal.
This year promises to dial everything up a notch. The five-night, four-day program is stacked with world-class concerts, vinyl DJs and more than 40 seminars covering mid-century style, music, design, pop culture and mixology. Yes, there is homework, and yes, you will love it. The marketplace alone is worth the trip, with more than 150 vendors bringing their most coveted Tiki-adjacent treasures. Add in fashion parades, art exhibitions, meetups, late-night soirees, a sunset luau dinner at the historic Polynesian-themed Catamaran Resort, a beauty boutique and a photo studio, and you’ve essentially got a full weekend itinerary handed to you in a Tiki mug.
Traveling with the dog? Tiki Oasis thought of that too. The annual Pooch Parade makes this one of the few festivals where your four-legged plus-one is not just tolerated, but celebrated. Family-friendly programming rounds out the schedule, making it one of those rare events where anyone, from toddlers to grandparents and everyone in between, can find their groove.

And speaking of everyone, Tiki Oasis has long prioritized building a space where attendees feel safe, seen and free to be fully themselves. The event’s Diversity & Inclusion Council, LGBTiki Meetup, and Melanted Meetup aren’t afterthoughts, but foundational to what the festival is all about. It’s not just a party; it’s a community.
Tickets are on sale now at tikioasis.com. Town & Country Resort is situated at 500 Hotel Circle North in San Diego’s Mission Valley, making it an ideal base for a long weekend in America’s Finest City. Come for the Tiki and stay for the cosmic color, exotic sounds and best tropical cocktails you’ve ever had at 11 p.m. on a Wednesday.
