From Mexican bites to discounted craft beers, heading down to some of our favorite bars and restaurants for happy hour might just take the cake for a spontaneous night out. Whether you’re planning an evening with the girls or are in need of some after-work bites with your beau, here’s our roundup of San Diego’s best happy hour specials. Happy Hour San Diego


Urbana Mexican Gastronomy & Mixology

New to the happy hour scene is Del Mar’s recently opened Urbana Mexican Gastronomy & Mixology, serving up some of the best Mexican cuisine SoCal has to offer. Established in 2021, Urbana has already gained worthy praise for its eccentric take on Mexican classics, including garlic shrimp enchiladas, fresh ceviches and zesty house margaritas. Happy hour is Monday through Friday from 3-6 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday from 2-4 p.m. Their happy hour menu is perfect for date night or dinner with pals—think $6 beers and $11 margaritas. And if you’re hankering for some Mexican bites, they also serve their Urbana famous guacamole and chips for $8, $5 ceviche and $12 carnitas sliders, which are a fan favorite. Urbana Mexican Gastronomy & Mixology is located inside Del Mar Highland Town Center’s Sky Deck, so after dinner, you can enjoy some shopping and an evening walk around the center.

Draft Mission Beach

With over 70 beers on tap and hand-crafted American entrees worth drooling over, Draft Mission Beach should be on everyone’s happy hour bucket list. This Belmont Park treasure is famous for its vast beer selection and decadent menu items like lobster mac and cheese and truffle parmesan fries. And if you come during their happy hour special, you can snag $2 off all starters and $7 draft beers. Draft Mission Beach’s happy hour is from 3-6 p.m. on Monday through Thursday.

Park 101

If you’re driving down the coast in San Diego’s North County, stop by Park 101’s happy hour for discounted craft beer, $5 cocktails and unbeatable views. Not only do you get the typical happy hour from 3-6 p.m. on Monday through Friday, but there’s also a bonus hour, 9-10 p.m., on Friday and Sunday. The outdoor patio is spacious with a large fire pit and plenty of room to accommodate large groups. Children and four-legged companions are welcome too!

We all know the best day of the week is Tuesday for one reason—Taco Tuesday! And Carlsbad’s Casero Taqueria has you covered because you can enjoy $4 tacos all day every Tuesday. If you’re looking to get down and dirty with some drinks too, Casero Taqueria has a fantastic happy hour consisting of $9 cocktails, $8 wines and $6 beers Monday through Friday from 3-5 p.m.

Cafe Sevilla

A trip to Spain is a lot closer than you’d think. At Cafe Sevilla, enjoy tasty tapas, an eccentric Spanish atmosphere and a happy hour menu to match. From 4:30-6:30 p.m., Sunday through Friday, Cafe Sevilla serves $5 beer and wine and $7 sangrias. Truly discounted and quality consistent, this Spanish gem offers three different tapas menus ranging from $5-$9 where you can chow down on spicy octopus ceviche, short rib tacos and much more.

We all know Taco Tuesday, but how about Italian Tuesday? At Blade 1986, happy hour is offered all night on Tuesdays and from 4-6 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday. With house wines starting at $7.50 and small bites from $8, Blade 1986 will surely serve your pasta and pizza craving. Located in Oceanside, this Italian prize resides in a historical building from the ‘30s–hence its name–and it has no plans of ever changing!
