Local Insight: The SCP Corcovado Wilderness Lodge is currently closed for renovations, but guests on the retreat will be the very first to experience the newly refreshed property, which features luxurious accommodations.
The adventure begins at La Hacienda, the lodge’s private dock and reception center, in the sleepy town of Sierpe. Here, guests will meet the captain and embark on a 90-minute boat ride through the largest mangrove wetlands system on Central America’s Pacific coast. Be prepared to spot everything from monkeys and crocodiles to all kinds of birds.
“During the retreat itself, guests will be able to really dive into the beauty of nature and the biodiversity of Corcovado,” Sealy says. In addition to being able to ground and regenerate, this is the perfect opportunity for travelers looking to reconnect to Mother Earth.
The five full days (and six nights) will focus deeply on Elemental Reconnection. “Each day is dedicated to a different element,” Sealy explains. “The first day is dedicated to the element of earth so that guests can get grounded.” The second day washes impurities away with the element of water, while the third day focuses on fire to alchemize and embody. Finally, the element of air allows attendees to envision new perspectives. Each day will have specific activities—think tree climbing, scuba diving, herbal infusion gardening and bird watching—to align with the intention of each element.
