Forks Out! We’re Taking You on a Delicious Dining Tour of The Shops on El Paseo

From Porta Via and Molé to the All-New Shorebird, Here’s Where to Eat in Palm Desert

Situated in the heart of Palm Desert, The Shops on El Paseo offer visitors and locals a high-end retail experience with a collection of chic stores—think Ralph Lauren, Athleta and Oliver Peoples. But what some may not know is that the shop-lined street incorporates several amazing dining destinations—like the renowned Eddie V’s Prime Seafood and the all-new Shorebird, for starters—making it a one-stop-shop for all things entertainment! With that said, we’re putting our urge to shop aside and instead taking you on a culinary tour of this famous desert hub. Get ready to wet your whistle and feast your eyes on some of the best cuisine that Palm Desert has to offer.

New to The Shops on El Paseo, Shorebird invites you to step out of the dry heat and onto a breezy shore, where coastal landscapes serve as inspiration. Featuring a wood-fire grill and rotisserie, the restaurant’s menu is influenced by traditional seafood and steak houses—yet with beach house vibes. You’ll find signature selections like the Duroc Heritage Pork Chop and Faroe Island’s Salmon Mignon. Or, stop in for a leisurely cocktail and share some avocado fries or twice-fried chicken wings. Shorebird, which just opened in February of this year, hosts happy hour on Sunday through Thursday from 4 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. and features cocktail specials and half-price sushi rolls.

New to the Palm Desert neighborhood, Porta Via features a menu chock-full of locally sourced produce, quality meats and seafood, as well as freshly baked goods. Peter Garland, owner of this new location, handpicks all produce from local farmers’ markets to ensure that the highest quality ingredients are being served to his patrons. In addition to fresh produce, wild-caught seafood and all-natural meats are flown in daily to craft dishes like beef carpaccio, steamed mussels, Parmigiano-crusted Alaskan halibut and New England lobster roll. Porta Via also offers diners and connoisseurs a special wine program that features over 150 different varietals, including a private assortment of classified growth Bordeaux wines.

Daily Grill

Situated on one of the busiest corners of El Paseo in Palm Desert, Daily Grill brings diners a true taste of fresh and flavorful American cuisine. This casual yet cozy restaurant boasts a “from-scratch” kitchen that uses locally sourced, fresh ingredients for all dishes. With an array of options, such as the famous braised boneless short ribs, tres chicken tacos, or to-die-for spicy shrimp and chicken pasta, there is a bite here for everyone. Whether you choose to nestle up in the comfort of a booth inside or enjoy the perfect desert weather on the large outdoor patio, Daily Grill will satisfy any craving for American cuisine!

Molé

There’s something special about generational family recipes and an authentic cultural dining experience. Molé recently opened its second location in the heart of The Shops on El Paseo, and diners are in for a treat! Pair the Shrimp Chicharrón Tostada with a thirst-quenching house margarita or another hand-crafted tequila cocktail. All ingredients are locally sourced, and every recipe is 100% made from scratch. Housemade tortillas, salsas, signature molé sauces and tender choices of meats and seafood make for the most divine and traditional Mexican cuisine in town.
