We seldom get the chance to feel the lift of ascension into the heavens. At the slope of the Santa Rosa Mountains, however, whether you’re a pro or novice, teeing off at SilverRock golf course will make you feel as close to the sky as any champion. The horizon forms endlessly as you raise your gaze, blues interrupted only by the beautifully orchestrated landscape. A symphony of primary colors sings as your backswing proves your 9-iron a baton and you maestro to your own satisfaction.

A Look Back in Time La Quinta Golf

For four years, SilverRock Resort served as home to the PGA’s Bob Hope Classic (2008-11). But, much like rookie Jhonattan Vegas claiming the final 2011 title, the course proved anything but sophomoric. Earning national recognition in 2005 from Golf Magazine as the only California course on their “Top 10 Courses That You Can Play” that year, along with Golf Week’s award for “Best Municipal Golf Course,” has no doubt helped to solidify the city of La Quinta’s title as “The Gem of the Desert.”

Tucked in Nature La Quinta Golf

Headed by the team at Arnold Palmer Designs, the 7,239 yards over 200 acres offers golfers massive bunkers and stunning waterfalls, coupling the landscape’s seamless blend of fairways and native flora. Guests can retire in any of SilverRock’s 335 rooms between the Pendry and Montage hotels. For those seeking a more palatial sanctuary, the hotel also provides resort-style homes and condominiums for exclusive lodging. Midday solar refuge is available in the temporary clubhouse, and all new facilities are slated for completion in early summer 2021.

Stop and Stare La Quinta Golf

The midcentury modern architecture gives a classic feel backdropped by the rich vistas of the Santa Rosa Mountains. Recent adaptations like inclusivity and sustainability are echoed in the landscaping and emphasize SilverRock’s creation of an idealistic environment for a multigenerational crowd. The course offers the public the rare opportunity to play an official PGA course. Between the views and professional instructors available onsite, SilverRock is designed to enrich any player’s relationship to the game and overall cultural experience.

What’s to Come

SilverRock is making huge expansions by adding four-star and five-star luxury hotels in the construction of the Pendry and Montage, respectively. Expect new branded Pendry and Montage residences, conference center, and a City of La Quinta venue site coming soon.

Cookin’ up Good Times

The SilverRock Grill will offer a fine-dining experience with an unparalleled sense of tranquility. Overlooking the Santa Rosa Mountains and the entire Coachella Valley (away from the main thoroughfares), this restaurant, which will remain a casual dining experience until after the remodel, brokers in what’s peaceful.

Picture-Perfect

According to General Manager Randy Duncan, visitors will enjoy “the setting itself” and “postcard quality” of the experience—sharing the views with the natural wildlife.
