An Inside Look at Hilton Los Cabos
The anticipation of a vacation is amplified by what you can expect to experience. Oftentimes, the excitement outweighs the experience. As we prepared for our trip to Cabo San Lucas, we read about Plunge Pool Suites, elevated beachside cabanas, fireside s’mores and a “floating breakfast” at our final destination. The Hilton Los Cabos had undergone a multimillion-dollar renovation, and we were prepared to love it. Spoiler alert: we did.
Stars + Fire
Cabo to Kitchen Package
Hilton Los Cabos’ Cabo to Kitchen package offers a two-hour cooking class and private dinner with Executive Chef Mauricio Lopez. Guests are guided to his vertical garden to hand-pick aromatic herbs and search for Baja’s “chocolate clams” (aka “Baja’s seafood candy”). He then prepares a beautiful dining experience under the stars, starting with a traditional fish and clam ceviche made with la talla octopus over a roaring wood and coal bonfire.
Sip + Swing
Enclave Beach Club
The newly opened Enclave Beach Club is outfitted with an energetic rum-centric bar, four private cliffside bungalows, eight oceanfront cabanas and sunken fire pits for nighttime relaxation. We enjoyed one of the private cliffside bungalows that allowed us to soak up the sun, relax in the shade, take in expansive ocean views, sip margaritas and relax in the in-deck rope lounge.

Land and Sea Activities
When it comes to adventuring, Hilton Los Cabos offers an abundance of outdoor experiences. From activities like whale watching, deep-sea fishing, ziplining and horseback riding to the opportunity to witness turtle hatchings (in August and September), we never ran out of things to do and places to explore. The property even offers water sport and land rentals, including stand-up paddleboards, mountain bikes, ATVs, foil boards and more from the resort beach. Simply visit the Beach Shack by Wild Canyon Adventures to pick up your rental equipment.
Plunge + Brunch
AltaMar Program at Hilton Los Cabos
We stayed in one of the 14 newly opened Plunge Pool Suites, which are the highlight of Hilton Los Cabos’ AltaMar experience. Each suite features a personal-sized plunge pool on the furnished patio, a plush king bed, a walk-in shower, a whirlpool tub, and more than 500 square feet of living space. Walking into the room, the view of the sea and palm trees reflecting in our private plunge pool made us instantly feel like vacation had started. The rooms require a three-night minimum to book, but they come with exclusive amenities, such as a dedicated AltaMar concierge, daily cocktail hour, daily breakfast for two and more. Enjoy a private poolside massage, floating breakfast in your pool or a sunset mezcal tasting.
Try Mezcal With an Expert
Serving as the resort’s tequileria, Sotol offers top-shelf margaritas and antojitos. Take in views of the Sea of Cortez from Sotol’s veranda, perfect for sitting and sipping as the sky’s colors begin to change. Snack on Mexican small plates and engage with Hilton Los Cabos’ certified Mezcalieri on the perfect Mexican libation. You can even take an Agave Spirit Master Class with expert Ana Martinez.

If you decide to bring your kids on this trip, they will have plenty of room to roam with the debut of a reimagined Cabo Kids’ Club, complete with an outdoor playground featuring a splash zone with a pool, water slide and water journey ride.
