Common Room Roasters, Southern California’s award-winning wholesale roastery located in Newport Beach, is partnering with Gwyneth Paltrow’s lifestyle brand, goop. Selling a fair trade specialty coffee blend, this will be goop’s first-ever branded coffee label. For $28, the coffee is available to purchase on goop.com or at a permanent goop shop in California.

The coffee is sourced from Common Room Roasters’ partnership with Astrid Medina, a third-generation female Colombian coffee farmer. Sustainable, ethically sourced and full of flavor, this coffee blend provides a taste of Colombia in the comfort of your home. “When the idea of working with goop came up, we knew without any hesitation that Astrid’s coffee would be a perfect fit,” explains Ed Moffatt, co-founder of Common Room Roasters. “Her personal story of dedication and determination, combined with a quality you can taste, perfectly personifies everything we—and goop—stand for.”

Once Medina’s beans are received from Colombia, they are medium-roasted in the Common Room roastery in Newport Beach. “To be a woman in the Colombian coffee sector is a crucial role that requires commitment, work, dedication and above all, a great passion for what we do,” says Medina. “I am very proud of my farm, which is the legacy of my father. However, I am even prouder of the coffee that we produce. It is a wonderful and privileged position to offer specialty coffee, and it gives me great satisfaction and gratitude.”

The specialty coffee is packaged in chic and simple pink-and-white 12-ounce compostable bags. It’s a perfect holiday staple, whether you want to purchase it for yourself to sip on cool mornings or give as a gift to the coffee lovers in your life.

Common Room Roasters supplies coffee to some other favorite Southern California brands and restaurants: Gjusta, Gracias Madre and Eataly to name a few. Pop in the roastery tasting room in Newport Beach for a first-hand, immersive tasting experience.
