Michaelās on Naples New Rooftop Rises With Success
Michaelās on Naples Ristorante is an upscale Italian eatery in Long Beach. Rated the Best Italian Restaurant in Los Angeles by Zagat in 2009 and 2011, Michaelās was originally opened in December 2007 by Michael Dene. Michaelās boasts impeccably prepared Italian fare and an impressive selection of fine wines. Rated the #1 restaurant in Long Beach and the #2 restuarant in Los Angeles, Michaelās on Naples continues to shine as one of the most impressive Zagat-rated dining establishments in Southern California. In July, it re-opened with a brand new look and Rooftop menu.
The perfect place to celebrate a special occasion, Michaelās polished interior is both casual and sophisticated. Anyone who has ever stopped by the small Naples neighborhood knows that itās chock-full of marinas; and Michaelās is the perfect representation of Italy in this laid-back community.
Changes to the restaurant include a new Rooftop, which highlights a retractable roof and a separate lounge area. A fire pit adds warmth to the area while conversational seating and umbrellas create a welcoming and communal environment. The Rooftop also has its own kitchen which serves a special menu for a relaxed dining experience, as well as a bevy of wine selections.
The stunning horseshoe-shaped bar includes seating for 14, and the adjacent dining area accommodates 45 guests.
The new Rooftop menu includes decadent choices such as fresh stuffed squash blossoms and mozzarella di bufala. One of the favorite dishes in-house is their gnocchi with oxtail and taleggio cheese. For the main course we recommend you try a rotisserie chicken served with fresh baby zucchini and roasted potatoes. Another dish to order is the bruschetta pomodoro. Its ciabatta bread draped with freshly grown heirloom cherry tomatoes and covered in white anchovies.
The food is incredibly freshāsausages are handcrafted by Chef Eric Samaniegoāwho appeared on Bravoās Best New Restaurant. Pasta and mozzarella are made daily, and local produce is sourced for every meal.
