Prosperity Market Brings Hope to LA With Pop-Up at Hilltop Coffee

Shop, Connect and Support at This Local Los Angeles Event

During a time when Los Angeles continues to suffer from devastating wildfires, Prosperity Market is stepping up to support the city’s resilience. On Sunday, Feb. 2, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., the beloved mobile farmers market will host a special pop-up at Hilltop Coffee + Kitchen on Slauson in View Park-Windsor Hills. The event in Los Angeles was originally planned to celebrate Black History Month and Prosperity Market’s fourth anniversary. However, it has now taken on a deeper purpose. It will honor the strength of LA’s communities and provide tangible support for families and businesses impacted by the LA wildfires.

The pop-up will feature over 35 Black-owned businesses, ranging from local farmers and food vendors to artisans and creators, giving Angelenos the opportunity to shop, connect and give back. Guests are encouraged to bring gift card donations (grocery, Visa, Target, Walmart, etc.), which Prosperity Market will distribute to those in need through partnerships with local organizations. These donations will help families rebuild their homes and restock household essentials.

“Shifting the focus of our planned event in response to the fires gave us the opportunity to show up for those impacted in both the short and long term,” explains Prosperity Market Co-Founder Carmene Dianne.

“The best way to support is by giving those affected the freedom to buy the products they need most right now.”

Fellow Co-Founder Kara Still adds, “Our markets are more than a space to be nourished through food. In addition, they provide a space for communities to gather, find joy and support one another. We believe those things are just as crucial during these challenging times.”

The pop-up event in LA will highlight this LA farmers market’s signature mix of fresh produce, prepared foods and artisanal goods, with vendors like Sherman Produce, Gorilla Grub, Island Spice and Ambeezy Organics, offering everything from farm-fresh ingredients to handmade dog food. Non-food vendors like Rae of Sun (stationery) and Crateism (vinyl records) will also be on-site. Meanwhile, returning favorites like All Chill Ice Cream and Gloria’s Shito will also be in attendance. Guests can enjoy beverages from 1010 Wine’s lounge. Plus, kids will have their own activities courtesy of Teach to Reach and Oak Tree Learning Center. Adding to the vibrant atmosphere, DJ Myah Moves will provide the soundtrack for the day.

Prosperity Market is also looking ahead to the launch of its mobile trailer in the spring of this year. The part food truck and part Los Angeles farmers market trailer will travel across the city. It’ll bring locally sourced produce, goods from Black farmers, and chef-made meals to neighborhoods in need.
