1 | Location, Location, Location

With its prime oceanfront location, beach time with the family is an obvious choice at The Seabird. Adjacent to Oceanside Beach at the resort’s Beach Rambler kiosk, the team can help set up chairs and umbrellas on the sand from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. every day with some fun games thrown in as well. Once the sun sets, gather the gang, rent a portable gas fire pit and enjoy an evening around the fire roasting s’mores together!

2 | Little Birds

Aside from the supervised Kids Club from 5-9 p.m. on Friday and Saturday nights, the “Little Seabirds” program features a range of fantastic activities for children. Depending on the day, they can get crafty painting seashells, rock mandalas and tie-dye T-shirts or learn cool facts about the Pacific Ocean in the Wood Library. Little ones can also hunt for pirate treasure on the beach or hop on the art mural scavenger hunt around Oceanside. Open to The Seabird guests along with those from sister property Mission Pacific, bookings can be made via the resort concierge.

Local Insight: The Wood Library was named in honor of former Oceanside Mayor Jim Wood, who was integral in making both The Seabird Resort and Mission Pacific Hotel development projects possible.

3 | Hang 10 Seabird Resort Oceanside

Surf culture roots run deep in Oceanside, so it makes sense that the resort has a program dedicated to wave riding. In addition to a team of on-site surf valets, the “Surfing by The Seabird” and “Skateboard School” programs offer guests staying at both The Seabird and Mission Pacific a chance for their kids to shred alongside pro surfer Duran Barr or get hooked up with a guided session from Olympic skateboard coach Neal Mims of Golden State Skateboarding, tour local skateboard sites and get hands on with a custom skateboard-making experience.

4 | Pedego Power

Electric bikes brought future tech to the world of biking, and thanks to a partnership with Pedego, The Seabird Resort makes exploring the sights around Oceanside super easy and a lot of fun for the whole family. Pop up to the California Surfing Museum on Pier View Way, cruise along South Pacific St to Buccaneer Beach to explore the shops and cafés in South O’Side or head north and discover the hidden gem Oceanside Harbor. Available from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily at Mission Pacific Hotel, prices start at $15 per hour for a pedal bike and $25 per hour for an eBike with a two-hour minimum for both.

5 | Culture Fix Seabird Resort Oceanside

From the lobby to the guest rooms, original artwork is featured throughout The Seabird Resort, but art-lovers will especially dig the dedicated ground floor gallery space, OMA West at The Seabird. An extension of the nearby Oceanside Museum of Art (OMA), the opening exhibition celebrates the outdoor beauty of Southern California and the Pacific coast with paintings by William Glen Crooks and Gibson Byrd, plus contemporary pop pieces like Sunbathe Barbie at Bombay Beach by Jen Trute.

Local Insight: In a nod to SoCal and the resort’s beachfront setting, the framed swimwear that decorates the Shelter Club are all original vintage pieces from the 1930s and ’60s that were sourced by the interior design team.

6 | Soul Care Seabird Resort Oceanside

Pampering isn’t just for the parents here thanks to a slew of kid-friendly experiences at Sunny’s Spa and Beauty Lounge, where “farm to sea”-inspired rituals have been designed to soothe and restore. Treatment options range from the Little Mermaid or Merman manicure and pedicure to hair art for children ages 6 to 12. High-schoolers can get their glow on with the Teen Scene package that includes a massage, facial, mani and pedi, plus temporary hair paint. There’s also a Mommy/Daddy and Me massage!
