Grounded in this mission since its inception, Shop Morpheus aids purpose-driven brands who care about the community. “I feel like fast fashion and Amazon is taking over the world, and it’s really hurting the smaller brands,” remarks Fisk. “So it’s great to have an online presence and store that carries local.”

Centering around the notion of bringing the community together, Shop Morpheus has a strong mission and focus on craftsmanship; the brand provides an opportunity for local designers and artisans to share their work with fellow Angelenos. “We wanted to create a space where the community can come and shop for locally made goods,” says Fisk. Everything at Shop Morpheus emphasizes and amplifies the community in a thoughtful manner, from products to trunk shows and events.

Shop Morpheus carries unique, one-of-a-kind products that you won’t find elsewhere. “Because I’ve been in the industry for 12 years, I have a lot of friends who make clothing and jewelry, and I wanted to carry all my friends’ brands,” says Fisk. Some of these include Encinitas-based hat brand Friends of Friends and jewelry and vintage lifestyle brand Youthquake Revolution. Not to mention, you can find Fisk’s own brand, Swim Like A Mermaid, in the shop as well. Denim By Orlee is another local favorite with Fisk explaining that “she’s based out of Calabasas and has owned her brand for 10 years, carrying hand-picked vintage denim.”

The charm of the Venice Boulevard boutique is strongly reflected in the color, flow and design of its interior. “It was created as a lifestyle design center that encompasses all elements of living and loving life,” describes Picker, whose career has focused on designing custom spaces for restaurants and homes. Shop Morpheus was crafted to be inviting for shoppers and features elements like light-colored walls, open arches and fun decor, such as surfboards, disco balls, plants and mirrors. Not to mention, the boutique has a totally ‘Grammable green wall and rows of products that you’ll love browsing through.

To further connect the community and showcase local artists and designers, Shop Morpheus hosts open-air markets the third Sunday of each month. Each market features 15 to 20 different local businesses, and shoppers have the opportunity to shop incredible products from passionate small business owners. As guests peruse the locally made offerings, they can enjoy the tunes of live music performances.
