This Iconic Oceanfront Resort Takes Luxury to the Next Level

The recently refreshed Ritz-Carlton, Laguna Niguel is sporting a fancy facelift, and this iconic waterfront resort is now more breathtaking than ever. The contemporary coastal revitalization was inspired by Southern California’s remarkable beaches, and what better way to celebrate returning to a sense of normalcy than by spending a sumptuous weekend at one of California’s most captivating oceanfront resorts? Ritz-Carlton Laguna Niguel

With stunning panoramic views of the Pacific Ocean, the resort sits perched on a bluff 150 feet above Dana Point’s Salt Creek Beach. The 396 revamped guestrooms and suites feature cozy and relaxing ocean-inspired decor. Aquatic hues of blue, gray, silver and cream were chosen by luxury hotel design team Wimberly Interiors. Modernized updates feature innovative designs with floating entertainment centers, 55- and 65-inch smart TVs, glass and marble walk-in, double-head showers and luxurious free-standing bathtubs.

From 400 square-foot guestrooms to 1,550 square-foot suites, each renovated room features a private balcony or patio—many with personal fire pits. Rooms are available with ocean, pool and garden views, and standard guest room rates start at $619 per night with Club Level accommodations starting at $1,099 per night.

The open-concept layout of the newly redesigned Club Level Lounge has doubled its capacity and is the perfect location to unwind. Guests can sample California wines and enjoy delicious hors d’oeuvres while marveling at the sunset. Art aficionados will appreciate the “Night and Day” exhibit in the lounge, featuring one-of-a-kind artwork by Pablo Picasso and Henri Matisse, curated by Dawson Cole Fine Art.

The culinary options are endless at The Ritz-Carlton, Laguna Niguel. RAYA, the resort’s Pan-Latin restaurant, serves up coastal cuisine with sustainable seafood, locally sourced produce and organic meat. Small plates and handcrafted drinks are served at 180blũ, the rooftop lounge with mesmerizing ocean views. Quick and healthy casual dining is available at The Market Place. enoSTEAK, the resort’s sophisticated steakhouse, and Bar RAYA, a casual cocktail lounge with ocean views, are both temporarily closed with plans to reopen soon. Check the hotel’s website and social media for updates.

And since we could all use extra relaxation and self-care this year, the resort’s luxury spa offers massage, body and facial treatments utilizing seaweed, sea salt and marine collagen among other therapeutic ingredients found in the ocean. The California Dreamin’ Custom Massage and Ultimate Radiance and Renewal Facial are both guaranteed to relax and rejuvenate. Hair, makeup and nail services are also available.

Take advantage of Dana Point’s gorgeous weather and head to one of the property’s outdoor swimming pools or play a game of tennis or basketball on the courts. Looking to spend some time on the sand? The resort’s beach butlers shuttle guests to and from the beach, set up chairs and umbrellas. Guests can surf, body board and paddle board in the sparkling Pacific. Golf links, with perfectly manicured greens and stunning ocean views, are a stone’s throw from the resort. For fitness fanatics, yoga and Pilates classes are offered daily, and the resort’s fitness center provides top-notch equipment for cardio, strength, resistance and weight training.

The Ritz-Carlton, Laguna Niguel is barefoot luxury at its best. With its dreamy oceanfront location and endless luxurious amenities, this newly refreshed resort is the ultimate Orange County staycation destination.
