Written By: Taylor R. Haynes Thanksgiving Dinner in LA
Thanksgiving elicits fond memories of gathering around the table, reconnecting with relatives and reflecting on what we’re most thankful for. But the truth is, there’s a lot of work that goes into putting together a Thanksgiving feast. From mashed potatoes and gravy to stuffing and cranberry sauce, not to mention the main events–turkey and pumpkin pie–crafting a meal to remember can take days of preparation.
This year, kick your feet up and let the professionals do the work for you. We’ve selected the best restaurants from across LA to celebrate the holiday and keep everyone satisfied. You’ll thank yourself later—when you don’t have to do any dishes!

Chef David Almany at Santa Monica’s 1 Pico is known for his innovative and tasteful take on new Californian cuisine–expect to be impressed by his take on Thanksgiving. Fresh ingredients and creative combinations on the menu celebrate the city’s adoration for relaxed, seaside dining. Traditionalists should order the organic heritage turkey entrée (it comes with roasted root vegetables, sweet potato mash and gravy), but if you’re in the mood to mix it up, may we recommend the grilled striped bass, accompanied by fennel braised in sambuca, olives and fennel pollen. $110 per person.

We’re thankful for the unparalleled, stunning coastal views at Terranea Resort. This year, you and yours can indulge in the resort’s multitude of Thanksgiving options, while enjoying an incredible natural setting. Nine on-property dining establishments take their own tailored approach, but all focus on fresh and seasonal ingredients (many of which are grown in the resort’s gardens). Swing by Terranea’s flagship fine-dining restaurant, Mar’sel, for a white truffle tasting menu or fill up a plate at Catalina Kitchen’s creative buffet experience. Health conscious guests can enjoy a meal at Solviva, where the menu is curated by the resort’s resident nutritionist. Or why not enjoy a turkey sandwich, served poolside?

It’s a dining experience like none other–and a holiday celebration is no exception. They’re known for outlandish, extravagant and fun tactics to help instill a sense of awe and excitement. For Thanksgiving, they’ve been known to serve courses in singing bird cages, in mousetraps and even in popcorn machines. While it might be a one-of-a-kind experience, expect all your favorite Thanksgiving dishes, including turkey, squash and gravy. $75+ per person.

A coastal classic, Saddle Peak Lodge has been around for more than 100 years. While not always a restaurant (it was once a hitching post for cowboys, later a movie set), Saddle Peak Lodge is a welcome sanctuary tucked away in Malibu’s verdant canyons. Chef Adam Horton curates a resplendent, four-course Thanksgiving feast for all to enjoy in a rustic setting that feels miles from the bustling city. Holiday menu standouts include tartare of bison, free-range turkey with sausage-apple stuffing and banana-huckleberry bread pudding.
