6 Reasons Beach House at Belmont Park Is a Shell of a Time

Spend Your Sunny Days at This Seaside Taqueria and Music Venue in Belmont Park

Picture this: you’re on the Mission Beach Boardwalk right next to Belmont Park, San Diego’s historic waterfront amusement park. Jhené Aiko plays on the speakers as the salty breeze tussles your hair. You watch the waves crash on the shore from your seat as you nosh on a pair of al pastor tacos topped with charred pineapple salsa. There’s an enticing sense of excitement in the air and people buzz about. That’s the experience you can have at Beach House Tequila + Taqueria, and here are six reasons why it can be a highlight of your summer.

Shell-ebrate Good Times

Beach House boasts a fresh and open space, making it the perfect place for all sorts of celebrations, big or small. They have an abundance of seating, including picnic tables with umbrellas for you to enjoy the warm, coastal weather. The upbeat and vibrant atmosphere makes Beach House the perfect place to take in amazing ocean views and cheers to summer in San Diego.

At Beach House, you can breathe in the salty air while overlooking the Pacific Ocean. The San Diego restaurant’s large space and choose-your-own table style allows diners to find the perfect place to admire the sea. Observe beachgoers stroll the boardwalk or watch the mesmerizing waves crash on the sandy shore. While you’re there, don’t miss the photo op at the cool twisty, turny palm tree Beach House sign, which you can find near the entrance facing the beach. Whether you swing by for a beachside birthday party or simply for tacos, you’ll always have a good view at Beach House.

Set the Mood With Food

The Beach House menu was recently revamped by Corporate Executive Chef and Director of Food and Beverage Jarrod Moiles. You can find a range of goodies on the Baja-inspired menu, including ceviche, tacos, burritos, delightful desserts and more. The Plunge Burrito is a must-order; it’s made with chorizo, chicken tinga, cilantro rice, black beans, cabbage, jack cheese, pico de gallo, spicy aioli and a special ingredient: Hot Cheetos.

Come for the oceanfront atmosphere; stay for the tequila! Beach House completely refreshed the cocktail menu and now offers some fantastic tequila-based drinks, such as their popular Pink Caddy, El Gallito or classic La Margarita. In the mood to try something bolder? Opt for the Niña Fresa with ghost pepper tequila, blanco tequila, orange, strawberry, lime and a Hot Cheetos rim. They also have kombucha, beer and wine, but don’t leave without sipping on a piña colada that you can order as a rum float or the Mexican Candy shot (not on the menu).

Perhaps it’s the boardwalk vibes or the 97-year-old historic amusement park next door, but Beach House’s playful ambiance makes it ideal for a summer day out. When you’re here, you’ll see people skating at the Beach House mini skate park or playing a game of cornhole or Giant Jenga. From skateboarding to people-watching, Beach House has no shortage of activities to keep you entertained.

While we love to hear the peaceful sound of rolling waves, you won’t hear much of that over the music at Beach House. There are speakers all over the place, giving the effect of surround sound. At night, the venue transforms into a music haven—one of the highlights of the entire experience. They have a full roster of musical performers, DJs and events, so check their events page or social media for upcoming shows.
