We Tried the Social Tonics Everyone Is Obsessed With
Have you heard the buzz? There’s a new drink in town and it’s stirring things up—especially among those seeking an alcohol alternative or looking to avoid a dreaded hangover. The effervescent bevvy, Cann, is a cannabis-infused social tonic. Each 8-ounce and 12-ounce can combines light, all-natural fruity and herbal flavors with a microdose blend of CBD and THC. The result is a tasty lift aimed at putting a smile on your face. Intrigued, we set out to experience a few of San Diego’s wildest activities with our new best bud in hand. fun stoned activities
1 | Head to Coin Haus for Fun n’ Games
Drink This: Cranberry Sage 4 Pack
We’re always up for a challenge and some friendly competition. These can both be found at Coin Haus, a 21-and-up “beercade” boasting more than 30 retro arcade games and 50-plus pour-your-own taps offering beer, wine and more. We pregamed at home with a Cranberry Sage 4 Pack and then got a ride over to the Haus for 30 Cent Thursdays (30 cents per play all night long).

2 | Indoor Skydive at iFly San Diego
Drink This: Blood Orange Cardamom
Looking for an adrenaline rush? Head to iFly San Diego for an epic indoor skydiving experience. Sip some liquid courage—we recommend a Cann of Blood Orange Cardamom—before taking flight. Following a helpful orientation, we joined our instructor in the wind tunnel for a 60-second flight. Fortunately, it wasn’t nearly as terrifying as jumping out of a plane at 10,000 feet. In fact, we might even go back for a virtual-reality jump over Hawaii next time.

3 | Order a Dirty Flat Top Burger at The Friendly
Drink This: Pineapple Jalapeño Hi Boy
After sipping on a pair of Pineapple Jalapeño Hi Boys, we rolled into The Friendly—a no-nonsense pizza and burger joint in University Heights. If you like to get a little messy when you eat (who doesn’t?), you need to sink your teeth into one of The Friendly’s Dirty Flat Top cheeseburgers. It’s only meat, cheese, grilled onions and aioli between two thin buns, but take just one bite and you’ll know why this juicy delight is a stoner’s dream.

4 | Get Your Game Face on at Punch Bowl Social
Drink This: Grapefruit Rosemary Cann
We headed to Punch Bowl Social for a little foodertainment—that is, brunch from their scratch kitchen followed by a few heated games of shuffleboard and cornhole (other games here include bocce ball, ping-pong and bowling). Housed in a former famous boxing club, the now design-savvy, expansive space appeals to both fun-hunters and foodies. Our day drinking consisted of the refreshing Grapefruit Rosemary Cann, but PBS’ infamous 360-degree bar serves everything from craft cocktails to its namesake punches.

5 | Catch a Flick Up High at Rooftop Cinema Club
Drink This: Yuzu Elderflower Reserve
We were down for a chill night after sipping on a Yuzu Elderflower Reserve Cann, and Rooftop Cinema Club seemed like just the ticket. This outdoor movie theater, located on the fourth-floor terrace of the Manchester Grand Hyatt, features iconic films on a big screen under the stars with San Diego’s beautiful skyline as the backdrop. Just select your seat, grab your headphones, hit up the concession stand (beyond popcorn, candy and snacks, the Hyatt offers a full bar and food menu), and enjoy the show!
Location: Embarcadero
6 | Get the Giggles at The Comedy Store
Drink This: Lemon Lavender Roadies
There aren’t many shades of Hollywood in San Diego, but one of the most notable is The Comedy Store in La Jolla. Maybe it was the Lemon Lavender Roadies talking but walking through the legendary location, we could feel the spirits of all the kings of comedy that had performed here, from David Letterman to Robin Williams. When Kirk Fox hit the stage, we naturally ate our weight in popcorn and giggled our butts off.

7 | Cruise the Bay on a Hot Tub Boat
Drink This: Sava Lime Basil
Every so often, you hear of an idea so genius you say, “The person who thought of that must’ve been high!” Followed by, “Wish I thought of it.” Case in point: a hot tub on a boat. Hot Tub Cruisin rents eight- or 12-seat boats for two-hour excursions on Mission Bay. The perfect social partner for this voyage? Cann’s Sava Lime Basil flavor—perfect for a refreshing sip under the SoCal sun. Again—pure genius.
