Shrimply the Best Tony Phillips San Diego

With many restaurants closed or serving at limited capacity, it is important to support the local fishing industry too. Catalina Offshore Products, a local seafood market, has done a fantastic job of implementing safety protocols and communicating via social media, all while feeding locals and supporting the local fishing community. It’s all fresh and straight off of a boat; you can’t go wrong!

Happy Camper Tony Phillips San Diego

If you’re looking for a great local experience, camping at Carlsbad State Beach is simply the best. At this campground, you can pitch your tent right on the beach! And don’t forget to pack all of the s’mores essentials and a sweatshirt for when it gets chilly at night.

Swanky Eats

My sister and her husband have lived in San Diego for about 20 years. Anytime I would visit (which was frequently), it always included a stop at Starlite. This stylish eatery has a perfectly lit atmosphere, great music and refreshing, creative cocktails. My go-to is tequila, and I will order any of their drinks with tequila. Order takeout or enjoy on the patio!

Get Inked

Tattoo artists, like so many Americans, have really struggled with the impacts of COVID-19.  Now that tattoo shops are able to open up, I’m anxious to get back in the chair. I’ve read a lot about Full Circle Tattoo and love seeing their new work posted on Instagram. My main artist is in Nashville, but I like to support locally owned businesses also!

Let’s Taco ‘Bout It

I love to bring out-of-towners to ¡SALUD! Barrio Logan—a hip, casual Mexican eatery. You can get two of my favorite things there: breakfast and tacos! I come from Latino heritage, and I love the atmosphere, tattoo-inspired artwork and also the proximity to Chicano Park, which is beneath the San Diego-Coronado Bridge.
