With nearly 800 Spanish-style rooms and suites, you can’t go wrong with booking an intimate Whirlpool Casita or a cozy Hideaway Suite. Both offer a private patio or yard with a hot tub—perfect for those temperate, cool nights. The casita guests can relax amongst historical architecture, with 460 square feet of privacy, as well as a personal fireplace—perfect for sipping tea while reading a book. Guests who fancy a bit more space can upgrade to the 830-square-foot suites, which offer two fireplaces for maximum comfort. All suites share the feature of a stunning backdrop: picturesque mountains surround the resort, and artful sunsets are guaranteed.

It’s officially golf season in the Coachella Valley! With temperatures at peak comfort, wintertime is the perfect time to take advantage of La Quinta Resort & Club’s world-class courses. Members, guests and the public have access to 5 courses, three of which are designated as PGA West. The Mountain Course, designed by Pete Dye, and Dunes Course have both been updated to suit the needs of golfers who flock from around the world for its award-winning appeal. Both courses are enveloped with views of the magnificent mountain scenery. Uncertain which to book? The 18-hole Mountain Course is renowned for being ultra-challenging, while the 72-par Dunes Course is perfect for those who prefer links with hilly greens.

Perfect Your Pickleball Game

While your friends and family are dodging the rain back home, you can enjoy dinks and drinks in the sunshine! Already known for its prestigious tennis courts, the resort reserves a space for eight permanent pickleball courts, available to La Quinta Resort & Club guests and club members. There are IPTPA-certified staff members on site, ready to assist with lessons, clinics or open play time ($30 per hour). These well-lit and scenic courts include water and restrooms and are just a short stroll from the tennis center and Spa La Quinta. With a smaller-scale and more easygoing court experience, it’s no wonder pickleball has become so popular in recent years. It doesn’t matter if you are new to the game or part of a league, an afternoon on the court promises a smashing time.

You won’t have your head in the clouds when you visit La Quinta Resort & Club—instead, be guided by the surrounding trails in this desert landscape. Only seven minutes away by car are the La Quinta Cove Trails near Lake Cahuilla, offering moderate hiking with a variety of breathtaking views. Drop by Old Town La Quinta to energize before or unwind after your outdoor excursion. A popular favorite among locals is the 4-mile Bump & Grind Trail in neighboring Palm Desert. When the Santa Rosa Mountains start to collect snow, head over to Tahquitz and Indian Canyons to be misted by a 60-foot waterfall. A unique experience lies within the Painted Canyon and Ladder Canyon trails, where you pass through slots in the gorge and climb to a ridge with the aid of ropes and ladders.
