Dog Days of Summer Returns This August
If your dog has been side-eyeing your suitcase all summer, now is the time to finally pack them in. Omni La Costa Resort & Spa in Carlsbad is rolling out the welcome mat for four-legged guests with the return of its annual Dog Days of Summer. This two-week celebration of pet-friendly programming runs Aug. 16-31, 2026. Timed to coincide with National Dog Month, the event is bigger than ever this year. They’re blending chef-driven dining, outdoor movie nights, wellness activities and tail-wagging social gatherings across the resort’s 400 Spanish Mission-style acres.
Guests who book the Dog Days of Summer package receive 30 percent off their stay, waived pet fees, discounted self-parking, a reduced resort charge and full access to the resort’s calendar of dog-friendly programming throughout their visit.
Two Signature Events Open to the Public

Beyond the exclusive programming available to resort guests and La Costa Members, two marquee events are open to the wider community.
The first is Pupcorn & Pawjamas Outdoor Movie Night, a complimentary evening under the stars at Valley Promenade on Friday, Aug. 21, from 7-9 p.m. Guests are encouraged to arrive in matching pajamas with their pups, with prizes going to the best-dressed owner-and-pet duo. RSVPs are available through Ticket Tailor.
The second is the Chef & Four-Legged Friends Dinner. This elegant four-course al fresco dining experience on the Legends Lawn on Sunday, Aug. 30, from 6-8 p.m. The dinner, part of the resort’s acclaimed Chef & Friends Culinary Collab Series, was thoughtfully curated by the property’s culinary team. It features gourmet meals for owners alongside a parallel menu prepared just for their dogs. Tickets are $99 per person, plus tax and gratuity. Want to enjoy drinks while attending? There’s an optional wine pairing available for an additional $30 per person. Tickets can be purchased through Ticket Tailor.
The four-course menu for guests opens with Hamachi Crudo with yuzu kosho, cucumber, avocado mousse, compressed melon, lime pearls and lemon oil, paired with Sauvignon Blanc. The second course is Chilled Sweet Corn Velouté with crispy chicken oysters, roasted corn, cilantro and chili crunch, paired with Chardonnay. The third course features Prime Beef Tenderloin with potato pavé, heirloom squash, roasted maitake mushrooms, confit tomato and summer truffle jus, paired with Pinot Noir. Dessert is La Costa Honey Cake with grilled peaches, sour cream frosting and toasted pecans, paired with Prosecco.
Pups are not left out. Their parallel menu includes Yellowtail Bites, a Chicken Garden Bowl, Beef & Sweet Potato Medallions and a Banana & Peanut Butter Oat Cake.
