In case you haven’t already heard, we are thrilled to announce that two of San Diego’s best restaurants are welcoming guests back with open arms! Herringbone La Jolla (opening July 2) and the Gaslamp Quarter’s Searsucker (opening July 3) are set to resume operations just in time for the peak of summer and the upcoming three-day holiday weekend. Both eateries are portfolio brands of global hospitality company Hakkasan Group, based in Las Vegas. Here’s what each restaurant has in store as they begin to welcome back their beloved guests.

Herringbone La Jolla San Diego Restaurants Open

Known for farm-fresh cuisine, line-caught seafood and a “fish-meets-field” menu, Herringbone La Jolla offers guests an upscale dining experience in a beachy open-air setting. It’s safe to say we’ve not only missed the cuisine, but also the whimsical coastal vibe created with the lush greenery, nautical decor and maritime-inspired artwork.

In terms of menu offerings, it’s no surprise that Herringbone will continue to serve classic favorites like the seared blackened tuna (with avocado cream, arugula salad and wasabi peas) and the Chilean sea bass (with haricot verts and a roasted cherry tomato vinaigrette). Happy hour and weekend brunch offerings will also resume, with HH happening daily from 4-7 p.m. and all night every Monday. As of now, the restaurant’s lunch service will resume at a later date. Due to limited capacity, the Herringbone team advises guests to make a reservation by visiting hakkasangroup.com/herringbone/la-jolla or calling 858.459.0221.

Searsucker San Diego Restaurants Open

Since opening in 2010, Searsucker has personified the social dining experience by encouraging guests to come early and stay late. Serving up classic American dishes with a twist, this established eatery provides a comfortable yet elegant space to gather with eclectic music, robust flavors and playful décor. Plush couches and living room arrangements create a cozy environment that feels like home. And boy, are we ready to come home!

Similar to Herringbone, Searsucker will initially open for dinner and happy hour seven days a week and will serve brunch on weekends starting at 10 a.m. The restart of their lunch service will take place at a later date. But have no fear, menu classics like Nonna’s turkey meatballs —made with marinara, ricotta and basil—and the Ora King salmon, which is served with grilled broccolini, will be available to order! To make a reservation, visit hakkasangroup.com/searsucker/san-diego or call 619.233.7327.

Additional Safety Info

In respect to health and safety guidelines, both restaurants have switched to a paperless menu system via a scannable QR code from your phone. Tables will be separated to adhere to social distancing guidelines, and a rigorous cleaning plan will also be implemented.

For those who are unable to dine in or don’t feel comfortable in doing so, both award-winning restaurants will offer delivery and takeout services through Postmates, starting on each restaurant’s reopening date.
