ICYMI: The PoWer Up Women’s Conference was an affair to remember—if your idea of an affair is a lollapalooza of badass babes getting in formation—and by that, we mean getting real about what it takes to be a female entrepreneur. The all-day soiree, held at the Marriott Irvine Spectrum, rounded up an array of CEOs, actresses, marketing experts, designers, social media wizardesses (is that a thing?) and the like, channeling all the girl power into a series of informative panels. By the end of the day, friends were made and plenty of knowledge was dropped, amid an oasis of drool-worthy eats, cool cocktails, chic shop sessions and gotta-have-it swag.

In addition to familiar faces like Lauren Bosworth, Love Wellness CEO, and Christy Carlson-Romano of ‘Even Stevens’ fame, some of the coolest ladies that you need to be following were on hand to share their stories, including Lauryn Evarts Bosstick of The Skinny Confidential, Youtuber Stephanie Villa of SoothingSista, Karena Dawn of Tone it Up, Christine Cuenco of REVOLVE and Nadia Mejia who was crowned Miss California 2016.

Each info session covered a topic of lady empowerment, from finding financial freedom, projecting confident body language, overcoming obstacles on the path to success, and building a brand empire—to the how-tos of becoming a jet-setter, a top chef, a notable designer, or landing a dream job in the fashion and beauty world.

The Set-Up
The full-on Sip & Shop event was worth the ticket price alone, with Instagrammable photo ops, balloon displays, beauty bargains and fashionable finds galore. Girly gems from gorjana, skincare samples from Derm FX, Sephora glam and on-trend accessories from Foray were on full display and ripe for the picking. Ladies in attendance felt a little closer to the Kardashians as they took photos in front of Wild Child’s blue and pink balloon wall with DJ Ariana Gavrilis’ beats in the background. And Rooted & Wild Co. created vibrant floral bouquets and arrangements that, by the end of the night, everyone was dying to take home! Whether you were walking through the hallways on your way to the next panel or sitting in the audience, each moment of the day required #nofilter—Archive Rentals and Code4 made the entire place an Instagram bloggers dream.
Bites and Drinks
For sustenance, the ladies snacked on KIND bars and catered bites from Hautè Productions Events and Catering, while staying hydrated with concoctions from Hendricks gin, Truly Spiked & Sparkling, Lillet and Honest Tea. Let’s not forget about the PoWer Up cocktail made by Snake Oil Company— that drink was as good as it looked on our Instas.

Rest assured that no one walked away from this thing empty-handed. Fully-stocked swag bags were provided to each guest, full of the kind of PoWer Up products that every aspiring boss babe needs.
