Bring it on, brunch. The highly-anticipated second location of Wilma & Frieda’s is expected to open this month in downtown Palm Springs. This beloved breakfast hangout, named after owner Kelly McFall’s two grandmas, has long served hungry diners their favorite dishes at its original location on El Paseo in Palm Desert.

Now, Wilma & Frieda’s introduces exciting new menu items in an expanded location on Palm Canyon. Traditional breakfast classics that you already know and love—think eggs benedict, French toast and steak and eggs—are taken on a wild ride at Wilma & Frieda’s. Rev up your taste buds and get ready for a twist on familiar.

Look just behind the Sonny Bono statue in the heart of downtown and you’ll find the new upstairs location of Wilma & Frieda’s. The expansive space has five rooms including a lounge, bar, barista counter, two dining rooms and a separate space for private parties. Even better, the restaurant’s open-air patio allows diners to mingle around a fire pit as they sip on custom-crafted cocktails and enjoy views of the plaza below.

McFall describes the look and feel of the new restaurant as 1940s roadhouse. “It’s like you’re tired, your car broke down, and you need to be refreshed,” says McFall. Once you step into Wilma & Frieda’s, you’re greeted by a hostess desk that looks something like a mix between “an airplane and a silver-streak engine locomotive,” as McFall describes.

Even the chairs are custom-designed with the restaurant’s bold “W&F” logo, welded into each backrest. Door handles designed to look like bent wrenches infuse the space with a sense of whimsy that matches the spirited food and cocktail innovations on the menu. The Palm Springs location will serve the same menu that landed the restaurant on Guy Fieri’s “Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives,” with a few new surprises as well.

“We’re known for our bloody mary here—and now we’re excited to introduce our green bloody Mary made with tomatillos: Tomatillo Tina,” says McFall who likes to say that Tina is Mary’s cousin. Pair the Tomatillo Tina with another new menu item, the Bangers & Rings Benny, that features seared beef and cheddar sausage on a homemade English muffin, two poached eggs and three jumbo onion rings, all drizzled in a hollandaise drizzle. Is it just me, or is your mouth watering, too?
