Whether you are a master yogi, novice or newbie—HB Yoga Collective is the place for you. Home to both locals and visitors alike, this Main Street studio offers a variety of classes that speak just as much to the mind as they do to the body. If you’re in town for a short while, you can purchase a pass for a day, weekend or week.

Residents can take advantage of the two-week $20 trial pass that includes unlimited classes with experienced teachers. If you’re a yoga or fitness teacher yourself, you can get a discount as well!

The studio boasts over a dozen unique style of classes, but owners Kori Strobl and Nicolette David shared seven classes that you won’t want to miss during that two-week trial or weekend get-away! So, bring your yoga mat, or rent one for $2, leave your sandals in the cubby near the door, and prepare to breathe your body, mind, and soul a little lighter.

Free Meditation

Yes, you read that right. The studio’s core values include community and mental well-being, so it’s only natural—but still really, really nice of them—to offer 25-minute, guided meditation classes six days a week for you to find your own peace of mind. For free!

Available: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday at 8:30 a.m.
Monday and Wednesday at 5:30 p.m.
Saturday and Sunday at 9:30 a.m.

Roll and Flow

This therapeutic class combines self-massage to soothe overburdened muscles and increase body awareness. Creative sequencing is then used, focusing on the specific theme (body part) of the day, whether it’s aching feet, tight hips, stressed shoulders, or simply learning to breathe better in your body. Expect to learn a few things that you can forever take with you and for it to possibly “hurt so good.” It’s also appropriate for those with  acute or chronic injuries.

Available: Tuesday and Thursday at 10:30 a.m.

Restorative Sound

Revitalize your senses and release your worries during this unique class. The instructor takes you on a journey through time and space with gentle movements and restorative poses. For the second portion of the class, focus on your breath and completely relax as you recline on your back in a comfortable pose and listen to a chorus of chimes, gongs, Tibetan bowls, soft drums, and other calming sounds. It is truly an experience unlike any other.

Available: Tuesday and Thursday at 7:30 p.m.

ELDOA Spine Therapy

Experiencing  low back, neck, or mid-back pain? Have you been diagnosed with bulging or degenerated discs? You won’t want to miss this revolutionary spine lengthening and strengthening technique. This class is typically offered in chiropractic and physical therapy settings, and HBYC is proud to be the only yoga studio in Orange County to offer it. Whether you experience pain or not, the exercises will improve posture, body mechanics and athletic performance that will leave you feeling taller and stronger.

Available: Tuesday and Thursday at 4:30 p.m.

Tai Chi

You won’t need your mat for this class as it involves fluid standing poses

that teach balance and muscle stability. Instructor Amir Zaki practices a specific Yang Style Tai Chi with 24 forms and offers complimentary Qi Gong exercises for flexibility, longevity, and health. It will definitely put you into the “flow” of yourself and the world around you.

Available: Friday at 7:45 a.m.

Vinyasa Flow

Regardless of your yoga level, the instructors at HBYC are attentive, highly-trained and able to cater to everyone’s needs. All students are offered poses that focus on breath, strength, flexibility and a positive mindset. Every Vinyasa class varies from teacher to teacher but

no matter the teacher, you will be well-instructed and taken care of. Looking for a great start to your morning? Try their Sunrise Flow yoga at 5:45 a.m (to get your practice in before the work day starts).

Saturday at 11:30 a.m
Monday, Wednesday at 6 p.m.
Sunrise Flow Available: Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 5:45 a.m.

Yoga Philosophy / Kirtan

The Yoga Philosophy class takes the phrase “live and learn,” to a new level as

students discover the teachings of various yoga philosophies that you can directly

apply to your life and thinking. The focus and brief exercises included in each class rotate, so you’ll never get the same experience twice. Offered every first Sunday morning of the month.

Who says kids can’t be a part of the fun? HBYC offers a special Kirtan class that can be enjoyed by all ages. The musicians teach the class short chants, often explaining its origin and meaning. The call and response chants between instructor and class begin slow and rapidly build excitement, laughter and smiles. The class also includes a moment of deep relaxation at the end.  Offered every last Sunday morning of the month.

Native Knowledge: Psst… eager to bring your children to another event? HBYC is holding a special “Beauty and Me” workshop for a mother-daughter beauty salon afternoon in honor of Mother’s Day. The event starts with a fun, bonding yoga class, then Mommies will be taught new hair styles that they can test on their precious mini models on May 13 from 2-4 p.m.

Stop by the studio and treat yourself to one of these intriguing classes, a home-made healthy snack and delicious Pristine Hydro filtered water. You can also enjoy some guilt-free shopping as all of their products sold in-store support small businesses with hand-done screen printed T-Shirts, artwork, yoga equipment and more, all created by locals!
