Best Summer Cocktails in San Diego

The Nonino Flip

Ingredients: Amaro Nonino, Grilled Pineapple, Vanilla, Lemon, Honey, Quail Egg, Nutmeg-Dusted Pineapple Wedge Garnish

East Village’s Harvest by The Patio isn’t holding back with this summer cocktail knockout. The Nonino Flip will have you wishing it was summer vacation all year long. Plus, get a look at those ingredients! “Whether it is greek yogurt, a quail egg, salt and pepper or peach jam, our goal is to provide you, our guest, with the confidence to step outside of your comfort zone [and] try something you normally wouldn’t,” says General Manager and Drink Curator Travis Carter. For this drink, Carter uses a full quail egg, which he says could be a surprise to most. “We build that egg into comfortable flavors such as lemon, honey, charred pineapple and nutmeg. The combination of these profiles combined with the bold flavor of Amaro Nonino creates a rich, smooth and surprisingly bright flavor that our guests genuinely can not get enough of.”

Misadventure Vodka

Native Knowledge: Each bottle contains approximately two pounds of baked goods and is batch distilled.

We invite you to taste this smooth vodka, crafted to remove gluten, at Hello Betty Fish House. This new distillery aims to put baked goods and vodka together so that you can have your cake and drink it too. After four years of development and testing in a cramped garage, the two founders, Samuel Chereskin and Whit Rigali, discovered a way to convert baked goods such as cupcakes, muffins, baguettes, etc. into vodka. This vodka is added to bars and restaurants daily, so make sure you ask your bartender if this brand is available!
