Gusto Bread started as a cottage bakery in downtown Long Beach in 2017 and launched our storefront in August 2020 on Retro Row (Fourth St). I started this business because it was my passion to make bread and share it with the community.

For the Community

I enjoy the creative challenge of being an entrepreneur, and it feels great to offer good jobs to fellow bakers and servers. There is a strong sense of community and reciprocity in running a small business and making food that is so meaningful to us all.

La Parolaccia Osteria Italiana is a beautiful family-owned restaurant run by honest and hardworking folks, offering some of the best food and service in town. They’ve been in business at this location for over a decade and are loved by so many people, including customers both old and new.

Marida Ngov designs and makes beautiful and delicate jewelry herself, which is on display at her brick-and-mortar storefront. In addition, she curates a selection of high-quality home and personal goods from unique brands. Marida Jewelry is another Retro Row tenant, so it’s also a must-stop when visiting Gusto Bread.

Pace and Quiet

Colorado Lagoon, an 18-acre saltwater tidal lagoon in Long Beach, is our favorite place to enjoy a leisurely walk or an afternoon picnic. The habitat has been restored in recent years with native plants and offers a lovely experience to see the local wildlife (birds, stingrays and more).
