Sip on a cocktail or indulge in some ice cream as you sit and enjoy live music and art performances. Whether you’re grooving to the cover tunes of an up-and-coming band or partaking in workshops put on by local artists, there’s something for everyone at this epic season-long festival. Live musical performances take place on Saturdays from 2-5 p.m. and Sundays from 3-5 p.m. Be sure to also mark your calendar for a Wine & Paint Night on Wednesday, May 15 from 6-8:30 p.m. Tickets are $45, and during this experience, Erin Schroeder will guide you through an evening of painting dolphins while enjoying stellar views and great vino. Or, if you consider yourself a crazy plant lover (or even an average foliage enthusiast), snag yourself a ticket to make your very own succulent arrangement with Ily the Plant Lady on May 2.

Floral Paradise

Whether you’ve got flower fever or you can simply appreciate the beauty of budding blooms, Belmont in Bloom Festival is the place to be for all things floral. Check out the displays around the park, one of which is an old-school, baby blue convertible coated in a cornucopia of roses, hydrangeas and more. Take advantage of a photo op atop a giant chair, flanked by equally large tulip cut-outs for your friends to pop their faces through. Capture cute moments of your little ones on a butterfly bench that’s backed up by a wall of reflective art and roses. And don’t forget to pop into a lilac-colored, vintage phone booth frame that’s decked out (in true British fashion) with flowers galore.

Craving something sweet…or perhaps a little more savory? Belmont in Bloom has your cravings covered—get ready to be served in style! Featuring a variety of floral-inspired culinary creations, Belmont in Bloom’s food vendors offer anything from fun, kid-friendly eats to something fit for date night. For your sweet tooth fix, be sure to check out the Sweet Shoppe where you can snag an orange zest-coated cone with a scoop or two of colorful ice cream, ranging from sorbets to something a little more creamy. To kick off your evening hours, catch the sunset at Draft where you can order yellowtail crudo, which is topped with stone fruit salsita, rhubarb gelee, breakfast radish, green onions and cashew crunch (displayed as perfect little flower petals!). This fresh dish, paired with the “Ready, Set, Bloom” cocktail, which is crafted with lemon, apricot, ube, yellow Chartreuse and vodka (topped with yellow flowers), is the ideal accompaniment to your sunset view.

Kid-Friendly Fun

What better way to reminisce on your own childhood than by viewing life through the rose-colored lenses of your littles? Depending on ages, hop on the merry-go-round or teeter-totter around the Tiki Town Mini Golf. Watch your kids light up as they get their faces painted on Sundays between 1-6 p.m.—and bop around to bands playing kid-friendly tunes on April 13 and May 11. Get drawn as caricatures on Saturdays from 1-6 p.m.—and find yourself in a mini floral Disneyland as you catch roaming characters such as Dancing Tulip Stilt Walkers from 2-4 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays, as well as a Flower Princess on Saturdays and Sundays from 5-7 p.m. There’s even a Bubble girl who stations herself from 3-5 p.m. on Sundays and releases giant bubbles into the air for kids to giggle and get excited about.

Spring Soirees

This spring, there are a whole slew of fun and fulfilling activities to partake in. Maybe you’re a big bruncher, in which case you must indulge in the Mother’s Day Brunch Experience at Beach House. Here, you’ll find a variety of live action stations including a pancake bar, an omelet station, a raw bar station, a carving station and more! Pricing for adults is $80, but kids under 12 are only $30. Or perhaps you’re an avid Earth Day advocate. If so, you can volunteer for a clean-up day on Saturday, April 20. This endeavor will span from the creek to the bay, so on the same day, you can still get your floral fix at Belmont in Bloom, while also sinking your toes in the neighboring sand as you make new friends and help keep the nearby beaches clean. Last but not least, if the thought of butterflies makes your heart flutter, we recommend you check out the Flutterby Exhibit from April 19- 21 for an immersive and educational outing with other nature enthusiasts.
