This modern Mexican restaurant, already well-established in Valencia and Huntington Beach (soon to be Anaheim), is known for their famous charro tacos, one-of-a-kind margaritas and rare mezcals. Mexican eateries may be a dime a dozen in SoCal, but this restaurant sets itself apart by perfectly embodying Baja California’s laid-back lifestyle, where it’s all about the simple pleasures. Everything they serve authentically captures the cuisine of Northern Mexico, featuring flavors from street taquerias to Abuela’s kitchen.

Each taco is cooked on a traditional oak-fired grill and smoker and is then topped off with one of their 20 varieties of freshly made salsas.

While it’s hard to go wrong with any taco, the culinary team at Solita has come up with some specialty tacos that are truly inventive. Don’t know which to reach for first? We love the pork belly dorado taco, which comes with house-smoked pork belly, amarillo hot sauce, onions, cilantro and slaw and the pescado taco made with pan-seared wild fish and served with their special sauce. Their agave bar features a constantly changing roster of over 70 of Mexico’s finest small-batch tequilas and mezcals. Try a sip of Solita’s exclusive, single-barrel tequila, made specially to pair with the fare. In terms of cocktails, their handcrafted margaritas are made only with 100% blue agave tequila and fresh-squeezed juice. If you enjoy a classic margarita, try the house version with tequila blanco, fresh lime juice, and agave nectar. For a twist, the Spicy Piña margarita includes tequila, green chile vodka, pineapple, mint, lime, and Jarritos pineapple soda. Feeling bold? The Mezcalero blends mezcal, passion fruit, guava, and lime juice, served with a chile-salt rim for extra kick.

Don’t miss out on Solita’s weekday happy hour from 3-6 p.m. and Tacos + Tequila Tuesdays. During this time you can get two tacos or a house margarita for just $7.
