East Village Association Is Bringing the San Diego Community Together Through Their New Ambassador Program

Through Donations and Volunteering, East Village Is Not Backing Down

During the past few months, we have relied heavily on virtual communication. From Facetime and Zoom calls to Slack messaging and social media, our in-person communication is definitely limited. And since these times may be difficult for our businesses, our mental health and our communities, we need one another’s support.

San Diego’s East Village Association is working tirelessly to bridge the communication gap in the neighborhood with the launch of their EV Ambassador Program. Designed to create a centralized communication between the business and residential communities, East Village Association has assigned volunteers to 10 neighborhoods to serve as the main point of communication between business owners, residents, property managers and the East Village

Association. Their duties will include ensuring the circulation of important information to businesses and residents, which includes providing info and contacts for issues like updates on current business offerings and specials, homelessness and cleanliness, as well as performing routine check-ins.

EVA is also providing window banners for East Village business owners to create a “unified statement of community and support.” If you’d like to purchase a banner, however, 100% of your sale will go to the San Diego Worker Assistance Initiative—a fund that provides resources to individuals impacted by layoffs and reduced working hours due to the COVID-19 crisis.

Through this program, East Village Association hopes to ignite a sense of togetherness, preserve the spirit of community and keep the communication alive in the neighborhood. Visit the EVA website to learn more about the ways in which you can show your support. San Diego Volunteering
