Perfect Bar and Almond Surfboards Toast Dads with Waves and Giveaways This Father’s Day

The Original Refrigerated Protein Bar® Brand Teamed Up with an Iconic Costa Mesa Board Shaper for a Free Community Event on International Surf Day

International Surf Day landed on June 20th this year, and a thrilling local event is offered a way to celebrate in style. Perfect Bar, the Original Refrigerated Protein Bar® brand, joined forces with family-owned Almond Surfboards for a Father’s Day celebration that was equal parts salt air, good food and community engagement. The free, all-ages event spaned two iconic Orange County locations and gave Dads and their families a memorable way to kick off the holiday weekend.

The morning began at 8 a.m. at 32nd Street Beach in Newport Beach, where the Early & Often Surf Club hosted a group surf session open to both Dads and their kids. Whether a seasoned surfer or just getting your feet wet, the session set the tone for a day built around the Southern California coastal lifestyle that both Perfect Bar and Almond Surfboards have long embodied.

Once the boards were rinsed and the wetsuits off, the celebration continued just a short drive away at the Almond Surfboards Costa Mesa shop.

Here, a pop-up event was stocked with complimentary coffee, açaí bowls and Perfect Bar samples. Attendees also enjoyed family-friendly activities and free swag from noon to 2 p.m.

But the real centerpiece of the day was the giveaway. Perfect Bar and Almond Surfboards gave away two pairs of custom, co-designed boards at the event. Two lucky families in attendance headed home with one for Dad and one for his little partner in shredding. A third pair was awarded via Perfect Bar’s social media channels, bringing the total to six custom boards going back into the hands of the SoCal surf community.

The collab was a natural one. Perfect Bar, founded in San Diego and known for its whole ingredients and refrigerated format, has always leaned into an active, California-rooted identity. Almond Surfboards, the Costa Mesa shaper beloved by surf purists for its clean design sensibility and craftsmanship, shares that same laid-back yet intentional ethos. Together, the two brands created a Father’s Day partnership that feels less like a marketing moment and more like an invitation to get outside and have a good time.

Families throughout Orange County looking for a meaningful and fun way to celebrate Dad this year had the best time on the coast. The event was free and open to all.
