If Coachella isn’t the family-friendly environment you want to experience on your spring vacay, check out Palm Desert’s The Living Desert Zoo and Gardens! From porcupines to panthers, The Living Desert is undoubtedly a crowd pleaser for all age groups. If you book your visit this spring, you can see a baby giraffe that was just born and experience this zoo’s spring light festival! Beginning on March 27, the zoo presents Glow in the Park,  an illuminating nighttime event that displays dozens of bright lanterns and light arrangements. With each and every illuminating installation, you can watch the desert come alive for the entire month of April. This light festival is unlike any other in California, so remember to reserve tickets before they sell out!

If your heart is more set on country music than the diverse odes that Coachella has to offer, don’t fret! Indio plays host to one of the biggest country music festivals in the nation. Stagecoach, like Coachella, is making a comeback from a two-year hiatus, and this year’s lineup makes up for it! Country legends like Carrie Underwood, Luke Combs and Thomas Rhett will surely make your weekend at the Empire Polo Fields one to remember. Not a country fan? That’s okay—Stagecoach isn’t all twangy tractor tunes. Over the years, the festival has pivoted to incorporate other genres and bands like viral hip-hop star Lil Nas X, legendary rockers ZZ Top and electronic guru Diplo. With a bounty of beer paired with some of your favorite music superstars, attending Stagecoach is a sure shot for a good time!
