Huntington Beach’s 5 Points Plaza is hosting its 11th annual Learn to Skate event with skateboarding pros, music, various vendors and delicious food. This free community event offers kids of all ages skateboarding lessons from professionals like Mark Appleyard and Tosh Townend—you’ll get to watch them shred and demonstrate their talents too. All you need to bring is a helmet and board! Big 5 Sporting Goods at 5 Points Plaza sells skateboards, helmets, knee and elbow pads if you need to purchase your own.

Various stores at 5 Points Plaza will be offering back-to-school shopping specials. Pop into Zumiez, Vans, Tilly’s and the Gap for new ‘fits and stylin’ shoes. Global Vision Optometry is also located at 5 Points Plaza and will ensure students are going back to school with 20/20 vision. Lastly, make a stop at Trader Joe’s for all of your kid’s snack-time and lunch-box essentials. This really is a one-stop shop to prep for the new school year!

If your time is limited and you can’t stroll the entire plaza, we’re pairing four types of kids and the perfect place to shop for them.
