Q: How does it feel to be voted one of San Diego’s top MedSpa Pros?

Koi Wellbeing: We are so thrilled to be considered one of San Diego’s best! We strive to provide the best customer experience for our clients and love that we get to interact with the amazing community we have every day. If it weren’t for our amazing clients, we wouldn’t be the best.

Q: What is the most unique service that you offer and why should our readers know about it?

KW: Probably the most unique service we offer that you don’t see in many spas around San Diego, is the PRP Facial. This is the use of microneedling on the skin with the use of the patient’s own Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP). PRP contains growth factors to help rejuvenate collagen in the skin, maximizing the effects of microneedling. This natural therapy helps reduce fine lines, reduces acne scars, evens skin tone and more with very little down time.

Q: What is the overall theory and approach of your business towards beauty and wellbeing?

KW: Beauty comes from the inside out. Our naturopathic doctors work with clients to reduce inflammation, remove toxins and balance hormones in order to help them feel and look their best. All our skin care products are non-toxic and come from natural and organic sources.

Q: What is the biggest benefit or incentive for an athlete who would come to you for treatments?

KW: We work with athletes to help maximize performance through nutrition that boosts muscle recovery and energy production. We have athlete-specific multivitamins, natural pre-work drink mixes, healthy protein powders for muscle and collagen building, and supplements to help with mitochondrial activity in the cells for energy. We also have nutritional IV therapy specifically formulated to meet all the needs of an athlete before an event for maximum performance.

SD Botox: I’m honored. Our team does their best to give our patients a warm experience and quality results. To hear that our efforts are appreciated is a wonderful feeling.

Q: What is the most unique service that you offer and why should our readers know about it?

SDB: It’s a toss-up between Coolsculpting and our Cutera Excel V Laser, which erases any unwanted superficial veins. We have a few employees that have gone all the way up to the Coolsculpting University to learn advanced techniques in order to perfect the way we sculpt your body. It really can be a precise art so we pride ourselves on keeping up-to-date on any new methods or understandings on how we can give you the look you want. Our Cutera Excel V Laser works immediately, and the results are permanent, so you leave the office with instant gratification. We have different lasers for hair removal, tattoo removal, hyperpigmentation, etc. but the Cutera is the doctor’s favorite.

Q: What is the overall theory and approach of your business towards beauty and wellbeing?

SDB: Less is more. We like to go with subtle enhancements. We don’t want to change the way you look, we just want you to look and feel like a better you. The moment you walk through our doors, the whole experience will be welcoming and non-pressured. We treat you as a person, not a patient.

Q: What treatment would you suggest for someone who is a complete first-timer and wants the most minimal reduction of fine lines?

SDB: The horizontal forehead wrinkles are a great first timers experience. You can use a small amount of Botox to simply smooth the forehead while keeping your expressions. We’ve found that our first-timers usually come in for the “11s” between their eyes though, as it tends to make people look angry while their face is at rest. It does take a bit more product to take care of the deeper lines between your brows, but people tend to be happier with the larger improvement in the overall look of the face. I’ve personally been happy with a frozen eyebrow frown for years and wouldn’t change a thing.
