8 Ways to Celebrate Oktoberfest in Southern California

Prost! Oktoberfest is Here and We’ve Know Where to Go and How to Celebrate

While Oktoberfest in Germany is unfortunately (but not surprisingly) cancelled, our SoCal community is bringing the celebration to our very own neighborhoods. Outdoor patios and biergartens galore—there will be no shortage of German grub and beer to go around this year. Make a reservation at one of these festive spots in Orange County or Los Angeles for a fun Oktoberfest celebration. 

 

1 | Shade Redondo Beach Oktoberfest Southern California

When: Oct. 4, Noon to 4 p.m.

Where: Redondo Beach

Shade Hotel in Redondo Beach is hosting their fourth annual Oktoberfest celebration. On Sunday, Oct. 4 from noon to 4 p.m., enjoy authentic German food paired with a cold one from Buzzrock Brewing Co. on the rooftop biergarten. Groups of six or less are welcome, masks are required and costumes are highly recommended!

2 | Helmsman Ale House Oktoberfest Southern California

When: Oct. 9-11

Where: Newport Beach

Head to the only brewery in Newport Beach for new beer releases and amazing food specials to celebrate Oktoberfest. There’s no better place to enjoy this October weekend than at their outdoor beer garden. Indoor and outdoor dining are both available to guests.

 

3 | Five Crowns Oktoberfest Southern California

When: Oct. 8-31

Where: Corona del Mar

Oktoberfest dishes and beers are in full swing all month at this favorite spot of Orange County locals. On Oct. 8, their resident cheese connoisseur and Cicerone will be showcasing specials on Facebook Live (@FiveCrownsRestaurant). You’ll want a sneak peek of what to expect! 

 

4 | The Brews Hall Oktoberfest Southern California

When: All of October

Where: Torrance

The Brews Hall is offering a twist on Oktoberfest: Shrimptober Fest! Three new shrimp specials from Rock n’ Fish and Chingon Kitchen are available—popcorn shrimp, BBQ shrimp and Baja shrimp tacos. Pair your meal with a beer from Buzzrock Brewing or George Lopez Brewing Co. for a flavorful, satisfying meal! 

 

5 | Bayside Restaurant Oktoberfest Southern California

When: All of October

Where: Newport Beach

The beloved Bayside Restaurant Oktoberfest menu is back until Halloween. Indulge in German cuisine with a twist on the outdoor patio, the terrace overlooking Newport Harbor or at home after you pick up your meal curbside. Order a Käsekrainer bratwurst and a Hangar24 brew as you cheers to Oktoberfest! 

 

6 | Old World Celebration

When: Now through Nov. 1

Where: Huntington Beach

This authentic Oktoberfest celebration presents German food, imported beer and music on their outdoor patio and biergarten all month long. Reservations are required, so plan ahead! 

 

7 | The Phoenix Club

When: Oct. 1-25

Where: Anaheim

Celebrating their 60th Oktoberfest, The Phoenix Club is the place to be. With German food, beer and live music in the outdoor biergarten, you’ll be transported to Munich in no time. Make a reservation, and be sure to keep your crew to a maximum of six people! 

8 | Alpine Village

When: While supplies last

Where: Torrance 

Stop by Alpine Village, a German market in LA, and pick up a Party Pack to take home for your very own German celebration!
