Postino WineCafe is exactly what Irvine needed! No shocker here! Available by the glass or bottle, Postino’s seasonal wine collection features vino from vineyards in Italy, Spain, Greece and California. The wine menu is curated by Wine Merchant and Beverage Director Brent Karlicek, who selects high-end yet approachable wines for palates of all types. Among Karlicek’s top picks on Postino’s menu are the moscofilero and agiorgitiko, both Greek wines that are available for $12 a glass. Additional menu must-haves are Postino-exclusive varieties like the Lost Mountain, a Washington merlot-cabernet blend.

At Postino, the more bruschetta the better! The wine bar is best known for customizable bruschetta boards with 12 topping selections to choose from. Each board comes with four toast choices; the best combinations are always something savory and sweet! Brie, apple and fig, warm artichoke spread, sweet n’ spicy pepper jam and goat cheese are just a few of the mouthwatering selections. The menu also offers grilled paninis, bountiful cheese boards and a lineup of hearty salads.

Casual yet sophisticated, Postino’s relaxed atmosphere is suitable for any occasion: catch-ups with old friends, dressed-up date nights and late-night noshes. No nook and cranny was left untouched in the ‘90s-inspired dining room. The retro design comes together with a boom-box covered wall, playful rainbow chandeliers and orange upholstered sofas that’ll make you feel like the main character from the underground music scene. The open-air patio has a more modern feel with Postino’s yellow signage out front.

4 | The Location

Postino muddles an easy-going atmosphere with a refined wine-forward menu that rivals big-city trends. It’s nicer than quick-service encounters, but not too posh to require dressing up for. It’s just what Irvine needed! Conveniently located off Jamboree from the 405, Postino is the mid-range dining option between neighboring restaurants in the Park Place shopping center like Houston’s fine dining and Lemonade’s grab-n-go. It’s also just 15 minutes inland from the Newport Beach coast and five minutes from South Coast Plaza.

5 | Happy Hour

Maybe the best reason to visit Postino WineCafe is for its seemingly too-good-to-be-true happy hour deals. Every day of the week, cheers to Postino’s $6 til’ 5 happy hour special. From opening until 5 p.m., enjoy $6 glasses of wine and $6 pitchers of beer! Plus, on Mondays and Tuesdays after 8 p.m., order any house bottle of wine paired with a bruschetta board duo for $25 collectively. Weeknights just got a whole lot better. Cheers!
