Here in Southern California, looking good is more than just what you wear—it’s a lifestyle. For those of us who are ballers on a budget (You know who you are, ain’t no shame in this game.), Palm Springs vintage boutique Revivals is your one-stop-shop. With everything from affordable fashion to quality home goods and accessories, you can find everything you need for a lifestyle upgrade. Get ready to pop some tags and put that $20 in your pocket to good use. It’s time to call up Macklemore, because you’re going thrift shopping at the only thrift store in the country to have its own brand of new furniture and home decor.

1 | Recycle, But Make It Fashion

Tired of all the same old ‘lewks’ this year? Incorporate some vintage flair into your summer wardrobe. Revivals offers a hip array of sustainably reused, upcycled fashion for men and women that you won’t find in stores (or on your favorite blogger). Get ready to stand out and let the compliments roll in on your new style—plus with super wallet-friendly price tags, you’ll save some serious bank.

Native Knowledge: Want help making an impact? All three Revivals locations (Palm Springs, Cathedral City and Palm Desert) assist with taking your drop-off donations and unloading your vehicle, seven days a week during store hours.

2 | Just Hold on, We’re Going Home

If you’ve ever dreamed of winning a home makeover on a reality show, you’re not alone. But while Chip and Joanna from Fixer Upper have a lot on their plates these days, you can still give your place the upgrade it deserves. With a generous mix of both new and resale furnishings, you can spruce up your living space with a whole new set of ethical home decor for every room—think everything from bedroom sets and living room sofas to lamps, mirrors, kitchen stuff and artwork. Choose from a selection of kindly donated pieces, or shop the Revivals Mode Home Décor brand, exclusively at Revivals, featuring affordable on-trend furniture, lighting, art accessories and rugs.

3 | Celebrate Good Times, Come on Thrift Shopping in Palm Springs

This October, Revivals is teaming up with Palm Springs retail favorite Will Stiles for an awesome 10-year anniversary celebration exclusively at Revivals. The local brand regularly places its playfully midcentury modern stamp on Revivals by donating fun and colorful pieces from its collection seasonally.

Start Marie Kondo-ing your closet—you’ve got plenty of time to decide which things still bring you joy—and let all of your wardrobe non-essentials join the party in hopes to spark joy in the lives of others.

4 | Support the Community You Want to Create

Revivals is a dedicated supporter of the Desert AIDS Project, which aims to end the AIDS epidemic by 2030. The 90-90-90 strategy seeks to ensure that by next year, 90 percent of those who are HIV positive will be fully diagnosed, receive all of the necessary sustained antiretroviral therapy to become less infectious to others and suppress the virus to levels of undetectability. Proceeds from Revivals sales support this worthy cause. You, too, can help by becoming a volunteer or donating directly.

Native Knowledge: An HIV positive person becomes 96 percent less infectious when on the appropriate medications.

5 | Good Vibes Only Thrift Shopping in Palm Springs

If you enjoy making new friends, eliminating waste, reducing the carbon footprint and supporting the local community, then definitely become a Revivals volunteer. It’s an “everybody wins” situation. In just a few hours a week (or more if you like), you can make a huge difference with your new crew. With 150 volunteers and counting, you can join a like-minded group of do-gooders and have a lot of fun. Fill out an application and submit today to be considered. “I’m proud to work for an organization that was founded on unconditional love,” says Steven Henke, Director of Communications for the Desert Aids Project. “The lessons DAP learned during the AIDS crisis enable it to provide quality and compassionate care to 6,500 of our underserved neighbors. The agency is life-saving and life-changing.”
