Forty of the top emerging artists will step into the spotlight this January in Ocean Beach, San Diego for a chance to become the next big thing. And for only $20, you can witness this epic live-music competition—with beer in hand. So lace up your dancing shoes, and gear up as these artists plug in for a musical, brew-crawlin’ night of fun. 1 | Top-notch Performances Springboard West Music Festival
After two full days of working with industry professionals at “Band Bootcamp,” participating artists will bring their talents to a community setting. With some of the music industry’s most influential and powerful people in attendance, artists are sure to play their hearts out. “Bands know that this could be their big break,” says Springboard West Founder Barry Coffing. Some of these professionals include those involved in launching and guiding superstars like Beyoncé, Taylor Swift and Guns N’ Roses—talk about star-studded!

2 | Do it for the Brews Springboard West Music Festival
Get your hops on during the Band & Brew Crawl from 2 p.m.-1 a.m. on the final day of the festival. Jump between four venues and choose from a variety of beers to sip on, including the Springboard Pale Ale—an original collaboration brew created by the area’s surrounding breweries.
3 | For a Good Cause Springboard West Music Festival
Springboard is a fully nonprofit festival, meaning your ticket purchase benefits Springboard’s nonprofit partners, such as Sustainable Artists, The San Diego Music Foundation, The Autism Tree Project Foundation and Pioneer Programs. Coffing explains, “We are not trying to make a living, we are trying to help the industry.”
4 | How ‘Bout That Location
Located 300 yards from the water in Ocean Beach, Springboard’s waterfront location is sure to impress. Each of the four stages are indoors and only 100 yards apart, so you’ll stay warm on your Band & Brew Crawl endeavor. “The venues are crazy different,” says Coffing. “One’s at OB Brewery and another is at a club called The Holding Company, which is really big. The third is at an Irish bar and then the last is at a real rock club called Winston’s.”
5 | Festival Perks
Festival-goers will get a game card and will receive a stamp for every band they see. “We had two people one year who saw every single band, and we flew them to Houston to go to Springboard Houston,” says Coffing. If you’re looking for the VIP experience, snag your ticket and enjoy exclusive beer tasting at OB Brewery from noon-2 p.m. before the Band & Brew Crawl.
