Nestled inside the Fox Racing Headquarters in Irvine, a special event took place that aimed to support a cause close to every American’s heart. The second annual Tanks for Troops event put on by motocross legend Carey Hart and his non-profit, The Good Ride, along with supporters from Indian Motorcycle and Fox Racing team, raised money for veterans in need.

As big names in the industry—including skateboarder and reality TV star Ryan Sheckler and rapper Big B—came out to show their support, a silent auction was live online, so that those who weren’t in attendance could play their part and bid on 24 different custom-painted motorcycle tanks.

Artists like Ryan Smith and Gerad Poepke designed a tank for the cause and created custom looks that featured things like skulls and ghost flames or black and blue checkers. People gathered along the hallway at Fox Racing to view these unique works of art. Infinite Hero Foundation

The bids were shown on a large screen, and the largest bid was on Hart’s daughter’s creation. This tank was complete with swirls, a penguin and—wait for it—poop emojis! As a husband and father, he says, “Doing things for others is a great thing to [instill] in your kids.”

Hart was in front of the line of tanks, showing support for his sponsors by wearing a FOX sweatshirt and flanked by rockstar wife P!nk; he shook hands with media and industry professionals as they trickled in. “Thank you for coming and showing support. I’m glad you could make it,” Hart said to guests throughout the night, as he encouraged people to grab a free drink and place a bid.

All proceeds from the auction went to the Infinite Hero Foundation whose mission is to provide financial support to veterans who suffer from physical or mental challenges after serving. Hart says, “Giving back is so important, and they deserve it more than anybody,” which is why the amazing $28,000 that was raised by the silent auction was appreciated by all.

As the night came to a close, P!nk got on the mic and said thank-you to all who came out and placed a bid at the auction. However, with the goal of raising $100,000 by the end of the year, there is still work to be done! Look out for other events during the year to be able to lend your support for this amazing cause!
