Orange County’s beloved, beachy dive bar has more than meets the eye. Trivia starts at 8 p.m. every Wednesday, but be sure to arrive early to get a seat. Their charismatic trivia host will challenge you in the best way, and you may find yourself making Mutt Lynch’s trivia night a weekly ritual. Order their loaded taco salad (only available on Wednesdays) and be sure to enter the paper airplane contest for a chance to win a free pitcher of beer.

Helmsman Ale House
When: Tuesdays at 7:30 p.m.
Every Tuesday night, Newport Beach’s only craft brewery is filled with the laughter of trivia teams. Hosted by Think Drinky, trivia night at Helmsman Ale House is the place to be for lighthearted fun. Teams of six scan a QR code to submit answers digitally and serious players are even known to bring iPads for the competition. If you want free drinks, study up because first-, second- and third-place teams win gift cards to Helmsman!

Order their weekly special, a $9 Beefeater sandwich on parmesan sourdough, as you work with four to five teammates for a chance to win Harp Inn gift certificates. Trivia nights hosted by Pourhouse Trivia consist of six themed rounds, and if you’re skilled enough, you could win a chance to compete at the Pourhouse California Championships.
