Valentine’s Day can be a lot of pressure, but don’t fret—we’re here to take the pressure off with an assortment of activities to enjoy throughout sunny San Diego. With that said, we present the perfect collection of day trips and date ideas to enjoy with whoever it is you love!

1 | For the Lovebirds Valentines Day San Diego

Grab your s/o and climb aboard the 90-foot yacht Chere Amie and experience a true Valentine’s Day in San Diego Harbor from 7-9 p.m. Enjoy bright lights and views of the city as you cruise along the water, sipping on complimentary champagne prior to indulging in a full bar. Once you’ve had your fill of libations and complimentary hors d’oeuvres, you’ll be ready to hit the dance floor and rock the boat.

2 | For the Adventurous Duo Valentines Day San Diego

Valentine’s Day doesn’t have to be all about chocolates and fine dining. For those couples craving some adventure and outdoor activity, book a night at the Loews Coronado Bay Resort. Action Sports Rentals is on the grounds, and folks can rent everything from kayaks and sand cruisers to speed boats and stand-up paddleboards. Enjoy a cabana at the resort’s adults-only pool, then take a complimentary shuttle to Silver Strand State Beach.

3 | For the Dates That Swiped Right Valentines Day San Diego

A first date on Valentine’s Day can be nerve-racking, especially if you’ve never officially met the person before. For those who said “yes” by swiping right, impress your date with a swanky date at Pendry San Diego’s Fifth & Rose. Grab a seat at the bar and watch the show as bartenders carefully craft some of the best cocktails in San Diego. The best part is that you’ll start your night right in the middle of the Gaslamp Quarter, which means there’s endless fun to be had afterward!

Herringbone is another San Diego foodie gem that isn’t skimping on the attraction of a fine meal on Valentine’s Day. Their pre-fixe menu includes a mouthwatering surf ‘n turf, a perfect meal at a restaurant that is just a hop, skip and a jump from La Jolla Cove. “Herringbone is a very beautiful and romantic space,” says Bella Camerino of the Hakkasan Group. “[It has] a garden feel with olive trees throughout that gives Herringbone La Jolla that romantic dinner vibe.”

6 | For the Party Couple

Valentine’s Day doesn’t have to be a candlelit dinner followed by a movie on the couch. The party people of San Diego will find themselves at Harrah’s Resort SoCal in Funner, California, enjoying REO Speedwagon in between rolling dice and swimming the day away. Harrah’s Resort SoCal is also rolling out a special prix fixe meal for Valentine’s Day that includes Maine lobster.

7 | For the Boujee Pair

This classy establishment doesn’t hide its price tag, as Animae actually likes to brag about the $5.5 million the owners put into creating this pan-Asian gem. A $95 prix fixe menu on Valentine’s Day gives you plenty of options for the four-course meal, including choices of duck breast, lobster or filet mignon. “Almost every single dish is a mashup of Asian and Mediterranean. It’s incredible,” says Chef Brian Malarkey. “We’re not doing authentic Asian. There are no rules.”
