Big Bear’s Newest Hotel, Noble + Proper, Is the Perfect Mountain Escape

These 8 Cozy, Design-Forward Cabins Are Big Bear’s Latest Draw

Noble + Proper is the cozy, quaint, design-forward mountain getaway you simply wish your grandparents had growing up. With eight total cabins in a cul-de-sac setting, entering Noble + Proper gives the same impression as a quaint, charming neighborhood. This is Big Bear’s latest and greatest hotel that’s worth planning a whole trip around.

Each private cabin is everything modern cottage core—a millennial’s heaven. Designer and founder Sara Simon is known for her color-charged, highly curated interior projects, and this hotel is no exception. Each cabin features bold wallpaper, contrasting colors, funky tiles and vintage furniture and decor, and they were inspired by and named after beloved family members (Otto, Fran, Lucille, Joe, Joseph, Elfriede, Maria and Orville), embracing their legacy through each uniquely different design aesthetic. From feminine pink florals to cozy greens and brick walls, each boasts a warm and inviting ambiance for guests.

All cabins have two bedrooms with queen-size beds—with the exception of Orville’s Lodge, which can accommodate 14 guests with its four bedrooms. Parachute Home linens provide the ultimate comfort, and the two bathrooms (3.5 for Orville’s Lodge) ensure enough space for everyone on your trip.

With a seamless, contactless check-in system, a front porch, BBQs and bikes, every traveler is bound to love this stay. Big Bear during the summer offers an idyllic atmosphere for days on the lake, hiking and grilling outdoors. The winter months are, of course, perfect for hitting the slopes and cozying up by the fireplace. Noble + Proper provides Wi-Fi and a Frame TV within each cabin, so it’s your choice whether to disconnect or stay plugged in during your getaway. And with a kitchenette stocked with plates and mugs, a refrigerator, microwave and kettle, you can stock up with snacks and drinks.

Ideally situated, Noble + Proper is within walking distance from Grizzly Manor Cafe (a must for a diner-like breakfast in the mountains), a two-minute drive to the lake and a four-minute drive to the village. Whether it’s a family weekend away, a group trip with friends or a romantic getaway, you’ll keep coming back to this mountain retreat. It’s what Big Bear has been missing—a boutique, four-season hotel that offers an adorable, centrally located stay.
