Have a Memorable Disneyland Celebration!

A trip to Disneyland is always a special occasion. It’s a place that—even before you step through the gates—will fill you with magic and excitement. They don’t call it the happiest place on Earth for nothing, right? In order to make your experience the most magical, we have compiled 10 ways to make your Disneyland trip one to remember!

Disneybound

Created by Disney aficionado, Leslie Kay, Disneybound is a way to represent your favorite characters without breaking Disneyland’s “no costume” rule. Many fans participate by choosing a favorite character and picking out clothes that capture the design and color of that cast member. Meeting your favorite characters and having them gush over your outfit is a surefire way to make you feel giddy during your trip.

Meet the Characters

It is always a heartwarming sight to see your child’s face light up when he or she comes face to face with Mickey or Ariel, and who could deny them that? Even adults can get in on the fun. You’re never too old or too young to relish in the Disney magic.

Club 33

Highly exclusive and expensive, only a handful of members are admitted every year to Club 33 — Disneyland’s private club in New Orleans Square — and many hopefuls are on an extensive waiting list. Those lucky enough to obtain a membership are treated to a royal world filled with antique furniture, art adorned walls, a full bar and fine dining.

Hidden Mickeys

Hidden Mickeys are representations of Mickey Mouse that are subtly placed throughout the park, included in rides and buildings. You can prove your devotion to Disney by scouring the park and keeping a tab of how many you have found.

Eat at the Blue Bayou

The Blue Bayou is not as exclusive as Club 33, though you should call or go online to Disneyland’s website so you can make reservations. Once you’re in, you will feel as if you’re dining in a Louisiana bayou (If that bayou was right in the middle of Pirates of the Caribbean!). Listen to the sounds of crickets, watch the boat passengers float by and enjoy a Cajun and Creole meal under dimly lit, romantic lanterns.

Dine With the Characters

Meeting the characters is fun, but having a meal with them is even better. Disneyland offers many opportunities across their parks that allow guests to meet characters as they dine. A popular restaurant is Ariel’s Grotto in California Adventure Park, where Ariel and her princess friends will greet you, sign autographs and take photos!

Character Wake Up Call

If you know your children are going to be a bit difficult to wake up and get ready in the mornings, or you’re looking to give them a fun surprise, call or swing by the checkout desk to arrange a wake up call from the main mouse himself — Mickey. When you answer the phone in the morning, put it on speaker so everyone can hear. What a way to start the day!

Go in a Group

When you go to the happiest place on Earth with your friends or family, you will share in all of the magical experiences together. You will create a memorable visit you can always look back for years to come!

Sing

If you’re a Disney fan, do not be afraid to show it! Share the magic with strangers by walking down Main Street singing Hakuna Matata and getting them to join until the whole street is blaring. Embrace the pirate life by singing to the popular tune as your boat floats lazily across the water in Pirates of the Caribbean. Even ask one of the princesses to sing one of their songs with you! And be sure to capture these moments on camera — you will definitely want to relive it later.

See a Show!

It would be a crime to go to Disneyland and not take in one of its fantastic shows. Find a good seat and watch Fantasmic, an exciting nighttime show where you can’t help but cheer on Mickey Mouse as he faces off with the terrifying Maleficent—in the form of a 45-foot tall animatronic dragon. Be sure to watch your favorite characters make their way down Main Street atop elaborate floats in one of Disneyland’s daily parades, too!
