For a Couples Date Night

Ember & Rye

For an elevated date night, ring down to the front desk and have them make a reservation for you at Ember & Rye, the resort’s signature steakhouse. With Executive Chef Richard Blais at the helm, patrons can expect vibrant flavors and unique combinations from the man behind several of San Diego’s powerhouse restaurants. Take their white chocolate-dipped radishes and sausage-stuffed dates, for example. If you’re planning on splurging a little, opt for the “Storm Breaker” cut for a juicy, tender 40-ounce cut of Brandt family beef. Order the parsnip creamed spinach to go along with it and relish a romantic meal with your partner.

Ponto Lago

Newly opened as part of the Park Hyatt Aviara’s latest renovation, this Baja California-inspired concept offers fresh fare like ceviche flights, seafood spears and Ecuadorian flan. If you’re looking for an experience and not just a meal, you can partake in the Chef’s Corner experience, where Chef will give you a ring before the meal to learn about you and your flavor preferences. He will then create a personalized menu just for you, designed to tantalize your taste buds! Ponto Lago also has an agave tasting experience, where you can taste different mezcals and tequilas–and even create your very own margarita!

For a Sunset Cocktail Hour with Friends

Most people think of the lobby bar as a place to grab a beverage while waiting for their room, but Park Hyatt Aviara’s lobby bar is a happening spot perfect for happy hour with friends. The bar opens up to the terrace, which faces the sparkling Batiquitos Lagoon. It’s beyond gorgeous around sunset, making it an ideal time to grab drinks and appetizers. Order a round of cocktails from their mixology lab, such as the Yuzu Jalapeño Popsicle—yes, there’s a full jaloro jalapeño popsicle in the drink—or the Tealand Nights for a boozy Thai tea.

For the Family on Vacay

Water’s Edge

This poolside restaurant is exclusive to resort guests only, so you’ll want to book a room for the night! Relax in a cabana with a handcrafted cocktail, blended frosé, bucket of beer or a margarita pitcher. If you want to launch right into vacay mode, order an ice-blended strawberry daiquiri. Water’s Edge also offers some casual bites like tacos, bowls and veggie wraps. They even serve hot dogs (if you’re feeling indulgent), but these are not your typical dogs. Their TJ-style Wagyu hot dog is wrapped in bacon, topped with black beans, cotija cheese, pico de gallo and cilantro. Finish up with some of their housemade gelato!

This immersive golf experience provides a large HDTV screen for golf as well as other multisport games, allowing you practice your craft in the comfort of a private suite. You’ll find a relaxed atmosphere with room for some friendly competition. There may not be an actual Topgolf in San Diego yet, but it’ll feel just like you’re there in this swing suite.
