7 Reasons This Electric Mercedes Should Be Your Next Car

This All-New, All-Electric Mercedes Is the Sleekest on the Road

What was once characterized as a movement built by zealous environmentalists, the electric vehicle market has become one of the fastest-growing industries in the world. While big-name brands like Audi and Jaguar have entered the equation with their own all-electric models, no other introduction has garnered quite as much attention as the recent unveiling of the all-new, all-electric 2022 Mercedes-Benz EQS. With one of the most efficient batteries on the market and a plethora of eye-popping new design elements and technology, the EQS has the potential to revolutionize the way luxury, and economy interact. 1 | First of its Kind

One of the biggest reasons why we love the 2022 EQS is the fact that the car has been purpose built entirely from the ground up with the sole intention of merging “progressive mobility with executive-class luxury,” says Eric Rosenthal of Fletcher Jones, the nation’s leading Mercedes-Benz Center. While it shares many important elements with its equally impressive counterpart, the all-new S-Class, the EQS strives to step outside of the box and prove that electric cars can be both stunning and practical.

2 | Unparalleled Range

There is a burning question at the front of every electric car connoisseur’s mind: how efficient is the battery? The all-new EQS boasts an incredible range of 478 miles when fully charged. In addition to this impressive feat, the battery can also be fully charged within 30 minutes from any Mercedes Me Charge station. And with over 500,000 Me Charge stations located across 31 countries, Mercedes has the densest charging networks available.

3 | The Hyperscreen

While impressive, high-tech displays and dashboards are nothing new to the electric car market, Mercedes’ MBUX Hyperscreen takes the cake. The dash features three displays neatly integrated under a gorgeous, 56-inch curved glass screen, which is one of the largest internal displays to date. “Offering a door-to-door display,” says Rosenthal, “it is the next generation of driver and passenger engagement.”

4 | Integrated Technology

To go with the dazzling display, the EQS is also introducing Level 3 autonomous driving technology—one of the few autopilot systems that does not require continuous driver supervision—a feat that virtually no other electric vehicle can claim. Additionally, the EQS is also adopting many of the coveted bells and whistles featured within the new 2022 S-Class, including augmented reality displays, adjustable regenerative braking and rear-axle steering, making the EQS one of the most technically proficient cars on the market.

5 | Classic Comfort

No Mercedes-Benz luxury vehicle would be complete without a host of features geared towards granting unrivaled comfort and luxury to your commute. The EQS features front and rear automatic doors, a soothing display of ambient LED interior lighting, HEPA air filtration and the implementation of the world-class Burmester 4D Sound System with sound personalization capabilities. Mercedes has always strived for new heights when it comes to comfort, and the EQS is no exception.

6 | Level 3 Autonomous Driving

While this has been mentioned already, this feature deserves its own space. While autonomous driving services are not uncommon in the electric vehicle marketplace, Level 3 autonomous driving is currently the world’s most advanced autopilot system. “It’s a Level 3 ADAS that allows you to take your eyes off the road and let the car handle all driving without continual supervision,” says Rosenthal. In addition, the system utilizes artificial intelligence to assess situations surrounding the vehicle in real-time, thus ushering in an essential step towards entirely self-driving vehicles.

7 | Safety Is Key

In addition to being one of the most technologically advanced cars on the road, in true Mercedes-Benz fashion, the EQS is also one of the safest. With 350 sensors monitoring the vehicle’s surroundings, the incredibly powerful computing system within the EQS monitors distances, speeds, accelerations, lighting conditions, precipitation and temperatures in real-time. Additionally, all this data is processed by a system capable of transmitting over 40 gigabytes of data per second, allowing the vehicle to adapt and make adjustments on the fly to keep passengers as safe as possible.
