You’re Going to Be Obsessed With the All-New Melograno Cocktails
Move over, hard seltzer–canned cocktails are the new drink of summer! These ready-to-drink beverages have become increasingly popular as of late, but not all of them are made equally. Noticing the lack of high-quality canned cocktails on the market, Shiva and Reza Mortazavi, a husband-and-wife team, set out to concoct their own canned cocktails that would rival those made bar-side. Wanting an alternative to sugary boozy drinks and mainstream seltzers, the Mortazavis created Melograno Cocktails. “We offer unique flavor combinations you can’t get anywhere else,” promises Shiva Mortazavi. “Our drinks have lower calorie content–only 5 grams of sugar per can; they’re vegan, gluten-free and made with 100% blue agave.” They managed to produce an elevated drink you can take anywhere, and the cans are beautifully designed. Each flavor has its own timeless look and was specifically made to be visually appealing. “We wanted to create a drink that not only tasted delicious, but that you don’t want to set down when you’re about to take a photo,” says Shiva. “The can enhances the aesthetic of the photo.”
Melograno’s flavors are globally inspired, so you won’t find any renditions of triple berry or pineapple-anything here. There are currently four flavors to choose from. “Everyone is using the same flavors, the same fruits. We use fruits that we grew up with and carry special meaning for us,” explains Shiva. The Pomegranate Cosmopolitan, their flagship flavor, is a nod to the Mortazavis’ Persian heritage in both the recipe and the packaging design. You’ll taste the sweetness of cantaloupe at its peak during summer in the Melon Margarita flavor, while the Orange Blossom Martini has a fragrant, delicate citrus influence. And last but not least, the Cucumber Lime Mojito is a sophisticated, refreshing take on the classic mojito, delivering a palate-pleasing finish. Elevated Canned Cocktails

Whether you’re lounging with your pals poolside at a luxury resort or pregaming before a wedding, Melograno Cocktails is fit for any occasion. “This is something you will want to drink, not something you’re pretending to enjoy to fit in,” Reza guarantees. “We wanted to replicate that good feeling you get and put it in a can.”
Currently, Melograno can be found exclusively at bars and lounges in San Diego and Las Vegas. The duo has plans to expand beyond those regions in the near future, so keep an eye out on their website and socials!
