Spend an Evening With Local Artists and Performers at Emergent Dance Company’s Inaugural Gala

This Special Art-Forward Performance and Fundraiser Shouldn’t Be Missed

Looking for a way to support local artists this month? OC-based professional dance company Emergent Dance Company will be hosting their inaugural 10.22.22 Gala, an art-forward performance and fundraiser that will consist of dance performances, an art gallery and a reception with refreshments at the stunning Rose Center Theater.

Guests are invited to arrive at 6:30 p.m. to enjoy refreshments and view local artwork in the lobby gallery. At 7:00 p.m., the audience will head into the theater for the performance, featuring two acts and an intermission. During intermission, guests can revisit the gallery—and maybe even take home a piece if something catches their eye. Emergent originally planned its first full-evening show for October 2020, but like many artists, the pandemic delayed their debut.

After a year-long pause, the company returned more inspired than ever, determined to realize their pre-COVID creative vision. ā€œThis gala is a dream come true,ā€ says director Megan Pulfer of Emergent Dance Company’s long-awaited inaugural full-evening performance.

Although this marks their ninth season, it’s the first time they’ll present their full repertory—eight years in the making. Pulfer hopes the evening will solidify Emergent’s role in Orange County’s dance scene and inspire other creatives post-pandemic.

The 10.22.22 Gala will feature performances by Emergent Dance Company and LA-based Laurie Sefton Creates, formerly Clairobscur. Guests will also enjoy local artwork on display, including pieces by Southern California artist Joyce Legate. Emergent Dance Company, in partnership with Ballet Etudes—a Huntington Beach-based nonprofit youth ballet—presents the evening’s performance. Founded in 2014, Emergent honors Huntington Academy of Dance alumnae and teachers while creating professional opportunities. Two ticket options are available: General Admission and VIP, which includes premium seating and a commemorative performance and art book. Seating is limited, so reserve your seats today!
