Hana Re Sushi
Slide into the Mercedes S-Class, tailored with breathable leather and imported wood finishes that are undeniably on brand with Mercedes’ signature designs. The lavish interior nods to the cutting edge technology hiding beneath the surface. One the way to Hana Re, play with the multiscreen digital cockpit that unlocks to your fingerprint and voice. The advanced driver’s assist funnels GPS and real-time data to anticipate any roadblock on the way to The Camp in Costa Mesa, where Chef Atushi Yokoyama artfully creates an omakase experience for up to 10 at a time at Hana Re’s intimate sushi bar. Chef Yokoyama builds off of the “petite yet deep” motto in his menu preparation and commitment to never stop learning. Order the unagi, a freshwater eel dish with foie gras with daikon radish risotto.

Knife Pleat
Knife Pleat is a one-star Michelin restaurant, and likewise, the Mercedes S-Class is identifiable by the gleaming star on the front grill. It’s almost as if the stars aligned for this night out! The Mercedes star is a symbol of inspiration for the brand and their commitment to combine form and function in automotive design (e.g. the way the S-Class can travel up to 46 miles without pressing on the gas and the 10-setting massage system). Unwind with warmed massage rollers on the way to Knife Pleat. Chef Tony Esnault was awarded the Michelin star for his modern interpretations of French classics. Cheers with a glass of Bordeaux in the penthouse-level dining room that’s finished with velvet love seats and juxtaposing light-washed wood tables.

Fable & Spirit
Route the S-Class’ widescreen GPS to Fable & Spirit. Street parking at Lido Marina Village is first come, first served, but parallel parking has never been easier than with rear-axle steering. The rear-axle steering also comes in handy for swift lane changes, as all wheels turn in sequence for easy city maneuvers. Glide up to the infamous yellow door of this Michelin-recommended hotspot and take a seat in the brilliantly teal dining room, which was designed to echo the sparkling shores of Ireland. The vibe is comfy and cozy yet still upscale. Executive Chef David Shofner plays with plant-forward dishes on his Irish-inspired menu. Start with a Main Squeeze cocktail, with foamy egg whites, while you try to decide what to order. The 12-hour Kurobuta Porchetta is our favorite!

Lido Bottle Works
Michelin-recommended and known for its farm-to-table creations, Lido Bottle Works is one of those restaurants that needs to be added to the night-out rotation. Overlooking the Newport Marina, this trendy waterfront restaurant is identifiable by herb-filled garden beds lining the string-lit patio. Chef Joel Gutierrez’s menu changes seasonally with sustainably sourced produce showcased in farm-to-table small plates. This season, we are loving the crispy branzino with a tangy Thai melon sauce followed by a pillow-soft berry pavlova and savory olive oil ice cream for dessert! In the eco-spirit, the Mercedes S-Class has an integrated hybrid generator with electronic torque for smooth braking (and breakaways!). While ECO eases up, Dynamic Select drive mode dials in performance. Not to mention, the plug-in hybrid model charges up to 80% in just 20 minutes.
